If I do get tickets through USSF, it will be for the italy and ghana game . For some reason I didnt apply for the round of 16 match . I think that if I do get tickets I'm just going to apply to the round of 16 match in Dortmund . If the USA doesnt make it , it will at least be brazil versus someone from our group.

I may try to get tickets for the Mexico-Angola game in Hanover on the 16th as well, anyone else want to join me in cheering on the Black Palancas?? (not sure what "Palancas" means but that's their nickname according to FIFA.com)

I just think people are inflating how much demand there is going to be for tickets to games involving the USA. Americans don't care, and Europeans think that we're not good enough to worry about.
I call this the Armstrong Conundrum. Armstrong was the last name of my first serious boyfriend in high school. I was always paranoid after he started hanging around with me and my female friends that all of them were going to try to steal him away from me. "How could they NOT be as in love with him as I am? Surely they must want him for themselves too!"

And then one day my dear friend Adriana broke the news to me. "Of course you think the world of him. That's why you love each other! But you know what? The rest of us just don't get it. We're happy for you, but we swear, there's no reason to be paranoid. We REALLY aren't going to try to steal him from you!"

And deep down inside, this gives me hope that even though I have a US Soccer confirmation number in the twenty-thousands, there just aren't enough soccer fans in the US that they are all going to fob me of the six measly tickets I placed an order for. So, it's like Mike said. I bet we'll all get tickets.

A palanca is kind of like an antilope, just black - so palancas negras always struck me as redundant. that said, I also put in for tickets to that game Viva Angola!

I would have to agree.... I know tons of people who are huge sports fans and not one of them would ever make the effort/pay the money to go to a World Cup (hell, they probably wouldn't even watch a World Cup game on TV unless I made them).

It'd be kinda cool to get a little red, white, and blue cheering section going for the Palancas.
