And has anybody bothered to ask why people who had their FedEx's signed for at 9:43AM haven't gotten a response from them yet!
They're busy taking angry calls from people asking about Faxgate.

Ok sorry about the personal attacks nobody is an asshat. You can cut the tension with a knife with everyone in here the last few days. I first asked the receptionist and then she said that she would have to send me up to he higher ups spoke with Paul - I believe he said his name was, and he asked me who told me that so of course I said MikeLastort2 or Amy cant remember which one, and he said that as long as you got your email confirmation and had faxed it in it didn't matter. Who knows really were all just reaching for some glitter of hope.
I couldn't get through on the "official" number, so I sent my application via FedEx. So did a LOT of other people. If people who sent their applications
to 312-808-1301 get tickets instead of people who followed the rules, that is completely screwed up.
And I wish ill will on ANYONE who gets tickets at my expense by going around the rules by faxing to an alternate number.

Talked to the "infamous" Amy at US Soccer and she said that the Fedexes that arrived Monday morning are being documented tonight and tomorrow morning and we should be receiving confirmation emails by midday tomorrow.
She refused to make any sort of guess as to whether there would be tickets for those who Fedexed their requests.:(
WoW! Unflippin real!

I asked Amy. She said that the FedEx apps are being handled now and that confirmation numbers will be out as soon as they get them processed.

Did she add, "those numbers will be so far down the list that over 12000 people will have to have their credit cards rejected before you'll have a shot at a ticket"?

Ok, ok, so I got sick of reading these boards and decided to give this Amy girl a call for myself. She said that she had good news for anybody who FedEx'ed their orders in. She said, "unforutunately most of the FedEx'ed orders would probably not have their applications processed." So I said, "I thought you had good news?" And she said, "I do. I just saved a bunch of money on car insurance by switching to Geico!" Sorry. I couldn't help myself. :D

Not a bad a Idea you could seduce her into taking you with her. That is if you dont tempt her to process your order first :p

Just don't send them by courier. They'll be turned away.

I think I'll call her tomorrow and ask how she's doing, what are her plans for the holidays, if she's got a decent eggnog recipe. Figure anything besides "where da ticketz at" would be a welcome change.

Only if I have the courier use the front door, but if he uses the back door and slips it in the fax machine its ok. Itll look like the fax delivered them. :p

Do you have evidence of anyone getting a confirmation who faxed to this number? I haven't seen anyone admit to it (yet).
-In fact, could it be that us BS posters are so obsessive of getting tickets that the USSF actually received less than 1000 requests all said and done, and that everyone gets an allocation? Not trying to sound sarcastic, I'm just asking, because no-one seems to have a grasp on how large, or small the scope of requests are.
I mean, 50-100 odd people who are posting about their experiences, could it be actually that we represent a decent percentage of ALL the US fans trying to get tickets? Even if it were 10%, I might like those odds. I would suspect most US fans know BS is the "home" of US National Team news/talk and have posted here.
Of course I could be wrong!

I pray Stinky is right, since I could not get through on the non secret fax number and my FEDEX delivery from CA got delayed and not delivered until 2pm....otherwise I am out of the ticket running.

I was just chatting with a poster here and told him that I think we're all overestimating demand. We can barely get 15,000 fans for our biggest game against our biggest rival here in the USA. I seriously doubt we're going to see 3,000 Americans want to fly over 3,000 miles to a country where people don't speak English to see a sport that's simply not all that popular to Americans. :D

Maybe so, but nobody in my group of 6 has ever been to a USMNT match, and we are all going...

Well hell, if you add your group of 6, then the games MUST be sold out. :)

Are we possibly overestimating the average number of tickets ordered per person as well? With these FIFA guidelines regarding identification I'm thinking most people ordered "what they need" instead of "oh what the hell, I'll order 4 for each match". I have no empirical evidence to support my claim. I would guess the average to be about 2.3 per password.

there's validity to that. I knew about 8 or so people who said they wanted to go. When push came to shove (i.e. meet at the pub to cough up all your information, passport, d.o.b., etc) it turned out to be 4!
