I predict a 3-1 tricolor win. Danilo, Amoroso and Rogério Ceni.
Really, Sao Paulo is NOT Saprissa, and is not that ******** that played against Ittihad...

If Morientes and Cisse don't start, very good for São Paulo. Morientes is very good with his head and São Paulo defense is sucking in "air game" (that's the way we name it in brazil, sorry). And Cisse is a player with name and balls to impose a lot of respect.
Any way If São Paulo wants to win this game I think the key may be the wings. Cicinho and Junior are very fast and skilled player (mainly Cicinho). Central defense of Liverpool is clearly better than São Paulo's. Midfield are slightly better, but for attack players I think São Paulo have a little advantage ( but only if Grafite and Amoroso 100% fit) .
Let's see. If we have the Copa Libertadores' São Paulo, the guys from Morumbi can win, but if we see the same São Paulo we saw against Al Ittihad so everything is already lost.

I believe it could go anyway but I am sure it is going to be a hell of a game.
Surely, Sao Paulo will pickup from the performance on the semifinals and play their heart out on this one.
It's going to be the brazilian attackers and wings against mistakes on Sao Paulo's defensive end... If Liverpool scores first, its going to be very hard for Sao Paulo, but to try to score first they may leave agile players like Cicinho, Junior and Amoroso more opened.
Well, anyway, no one should miss this game!

seeing the last game, alonso is liverpool's key player, if he has space he will punish sao paolo. obviously gerrard is the main threat inside the final third with his running, passing and shootting, but also earlier in this thread i heard that sao paolo weren't good in the air, watch out for crouch and morientes!

Sao Paulo is very good in the air. They did not play well the first game but their 3 central defenders are 1.86, 1.88 and 1.92cm. Lugano and Fabao are great defenders. It is in the ground that lies the biggest danger for Sao Paulo, if you give space to Gerrard or Alonso, they will pass the ball behind the back of the defenders and that will be a problem.

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez will stay in Japan for Sunday's World Club Championship final despite the death of his father earlier this week. "They couldn't delay the funeral and I can't go," said the Spaniard. Link to story (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/4533980.stm)
Will Sao Paulo add a third world title? Will Liverpool finally win the one trophy that has eluded them for so long?
I personally think Liverpool will take it...

Liverpool are just too effiecent not to win this at the moment. Not coceeding in 11 games.I actually think Sao Paulo will score against us but i think Gerrard will score 1 or 2 from long range. You seen how the crowd got so excited when he just touched the ball against Saprissa. He said he wants to give the Japan fans a show and that means goals.I think he will have a few long shots and score 1 or 2.

This will be a great game. I wich Sao Paulo wins its third world cup title but it's going to be, maybe, the toughest chalenge ever.
When Sao Paulo beat Milan and Barcelona, Sao Paulo clearly had the world's best team, it worked like a machine. Mainly because of our Tele Santana mastering coaching.
This time around, the game will be decided on these matchups:
- Gerrard against Mineiro and Josue - Sao Paulo DM are 2 pitbulls, they will try not to give any free second to Gerrard, but then again, that's all Gerrard needs to make that special pass. Sao Paulo bet here is trying to keep attacking Gerrard so that he can not perform so well on offense.
- Lugano & Fabao against Morientes & Crouch - Again, the british side will try to use the aerial game as much as they can. Sao Paulo defenders are tall but can they win them all on the air? Just one chance is what Morientes and Crouch want.
- Traore & Riise against Cicinho and Junior - All excelent players with a little bit advantage to the brazilians. Junior is not a young player, but then again, Traore is not an offensive minded player but Riise, one of the hopes for the british to gte some good crosses will not be comfortable going all the way knowing that he will have the likes of Cicinho on his back.
It will just be a great game. It should be better than the Champions League final.

I live close to Frankfurt, in Germany, and want to watch the final match SPFC X Liverpool on sunday.
Does anyone know where I can watch it? The game will not be shown on Germany TV or on Premiere. Is there any live transmission online? Or any sportsbar here in the region (I am also close to Strassbourg in France) where I could watch it?????

I seen most of the Copa Intercontinental (1991-2001) in Closed circuit bars In Heidelberg, Germany.. I remember watching Borussia Dortmund beat Cruzeiro in 1997.. Man, what a party that was.. I got drunk off my ass with the borussia fans..

Even though Sao Paulo are one of my rivals, I'm still rooting for them.
I'd probably give a slight edge to Liverpool. I expect the support for both teams to be about even at the stadium. But, Rogerio Ceni isnt 100%. He has some problem with his knee or something so that limits his free kicks and pks. In fact, I think him and Amoroso will be splitting the penalty kick duties.
But, I think Gerrard's comments were pretty stupid. That's just adding fuel to the fire. Sao Paulo didnt look that good against al-Ittihad...I feel they are actually the third best team in the tournament. They really played a very good game against Sao Paulo. Their speed on the counter-attacks was insane. And, because Liverpool arent a very fast counter-attacking team...certainly not like al-Ittihad, I think that Sao Paulo have a chance. Obviously, they cant fall apart in the first 10 minutes like Saprissa did. Sao Paulo have 2 solid, experienced strikers...and they have a very good defense. Lugano is an amazing player. But, ultitimately, I'd have to give the edge to Liverpool.

I didn't see what Gerrard said that you found offensive, it would be nice if you put up a link. Anyway, if you are going to mention comments, I'm sure you are well aware of the disrespectful things Amoroso and Cicinho have been saying about Liverpool.

Sorry to have disappeared. Gerrard just said that Liverpool are unbeatable and that they will likely beat Sao Paulo. These comments, I think, really do no good. It just shows the players to be arrogant and whatnot. It's fine to say that we are playing really well at the moment, but I think unbeatable is another thing. The links are in Portuguese...so it won't really help. But yeah, I'm not really a fan of players and trash-talking. But whatever...
What did Cicinho and Amoroso say anyways? I know that Cicinho said that he isnt afraid of Liverpool, which is fine. This seems to be a respone to Gerrard, since he said that no team is unbeatable. But whatever, it wouldnt surprise me if the Brazilian media didnt focus on the negative comments you mentioned. Ahhh...media bias.

I kind of like Sao Paulo but I would be shocked if Liverpool doesn't win by 2.

Surprised to see Crouch banished to the bench. His height is a definite advantage over the geneally shorter Brazilian defenders. Should be a great match though...
Also, I was expecting to see Grafite start ahead of Aloisio, who didnt look too good in the last match. Then again, Grafite is still recovering from his knee injury. He's still getting worked into the line-up.
