I'm wondering whether the confirmation number depends on which category requested: Cat 1 - 1000s, Cat 3 - 3000s?
My 1xxx came from a Cat-3

Tell us when you faxed and when the email came, if you would.

first, i dunno if you should be posting the entire number.
second, have we considered if all of these numbers have a 0 in them? it would make more sense at this point to be counting orders in the hundreds, not the thousands. for those that have received theirs, do they all include zeros?

If you think your'e screwed...then I don't know what kinda luck I will have. My application didn't get to Chicago til 11:40ish this morning. Extremely agitating when you had the application ready to go the minute it was supposed to open up and tried 3 different fax machines for 2 1/2 hours. Needless to say I am incredibly depressed right now. Still awaiting email confirmation...

Got mine sometime in the last three hours. Number is in the low 2000's for Cat-3 1st round tickets. My order went in during the first hour that the fax line was open.
Alright... this has been stressing me out way too much. At least now there is some sort of record of my order so I can relax a bit. I'm done thinking about this until I hear from USSF again.

Yeah, nothing makes sense here.
My FedEx Tracking Shipment shows that my package arrived at 9:43A.M., but NO confirmation email from the USSF.

Here's some quick math that might give us some hope:
IF the Fed received 4000 ticket requests (orders numbered 5000-1000) in 6 hours (times ranging from 12:30-6:30 CST) that would mean a minimum of 1000 ticket orders (4 ticketholders per order). In 6 hours, that would work out to about 166 orders/hour.
at 3-4 minutes a fax, unless they had about 10 fax
machines (or fax numbers), that's impossible.
Of the few people that have posted their confirmation numbers, they've all had a 0 as the second number. It's very possible then that those confirmation numbers are actually sets of two numbers: 10-01 to 10-99, or 50-01 to 50-99, for example.
this would mean that we're dealing with hundreds of requests, not thousands.
This is what I'm telling myself.

People did mention yesterday about 5-6 different fax numbers I think.

there would have to be 10 to cover even the bare minimum...this wouldn't account for failed fax transmissions, people ordering less than 4 tickets, etc.
i'm trying to keep hope alive, here!

I've been following all these threads to try and find out any info about what's going on in this whole wacky process. It seems like we all had to waste an entire day just to get a chance to go to the World Cup.
May I say that I hope I end up seeing all of you there. GO USA!

I got a confirmation email in the 5000s - I sent in by fax and FedEx (I know - not recommended) for a Cat 3 ticket request.

Hey my FedEx order was also recieved at 7:something this morning. My work email is my USSF confirm email, so I am hoping that I see some order confirm there in the morning, because as of now (12:38 a.m. EST) no such email has relayed to my Blackberry. This could very well be a case of Spam server blocking it though, and I would highly recommend that y;all check that as well.
Otherwise oh well.
Also, I agree with some earlier posts. I do not reasonably believe that nearly 5000 orders went through in a matter of hours let alone at all by right now. From experience with other sporting events, concerts, etc, almost invariably longer ticketing numbers are used in order to store more information regarding the holder (etc). I would bet there is a more complex system at work than mere 0001 through 5999 at this point. Though USSF has not been that brilliant thus far.
