You have not been paying attention :)
This is from an earlier post (http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showpost.php?p=6995906&postcount=203) (#203) in this thread:
My confirmation number is #100**. My fax went through Tuesday at about 10:30 am.
Several posters on this thread whose orders arrived at US Soccer on Wednesday or later received confirmation numbers > 20000.

USSF called me the other day saying they didn't have the sheet indicating what matches I wanted.
The fax transmission showed all pages went through. They obviously lost it... but whatever, got it sorted.

If that's 4:13 Central Time, congrats! (i.e, you're just behind me)
If that's 4:13 EST, you suck!
You're all good BIGJAKE... it is Central time. :)
Even though there is no way to prove my times were actually an hour earlier (fax machine off an hour), I am not pushing my luck... I am simply happy I am being given that time, period! It was a long week of waiting last week after reading all these posts... I had to stop or I was going to go mental!
Freakish thing is technically, you could very possibly have been the fax JUST before mine... WOW! LOL! :D

It is now Jan 8th. Previous posts claimed US Soccer would notify us by the 6th (while others seemed less sure). Any updates? Has anyone received confirmation they got tickets?

Look at the USSoccer website and read the "2006 World Cup Ticket Advisory, Special Note"

So if we are supposed to know on or before January 14th , that means some of us will start getting notification emails ?

Yes, I would think so. As someone else said, you may get earlier notification by checking your credit card online.

I think this is incorrect. As I understand it, the reason things are taking so long at USSF is so that every application they send on to FIFA is in a state that should result in that ticket applicant being given tickets. I do not think USSF will run actually charge credit cards, but that will be done by FIFA / DWCOC. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

I think that the USSF will be the ones charging credit cards. They raised the price 10 Euros per ticket for this sale (on top of the FIFA price), also the USSF application accepted a variety of different credit cards. FIFA only takes MasterCard.

Well I am basing it on the fact that they (USSF and FIFA) say they will cancel orders with invalid billing info. In order to see if your card works I believe they need to put in a charge.
From USSF website:
"A ticket order may also be confirmed as received, but not processed, if the order form does not follow the guidelines set by FIFA and U.S. Soccer (i.e. incomplete, invalid payment, invalid contact information, exceeds maximum quantity of tickets allowed, etc.)."

I just got the email about the US - Guatemala game....
I got really excited when I saw the sender name, but what a let down when it was for tickets to some friendly they could have easily publicized after the 14th.
To US Soccer: Get to work on the WC tickets and stop screwing around with the friendlies!
At least they didn't do a "first come first served by carrier pidgeon"' sale for this game.

That was a cruel email to send me USSF..... I thought it was a WC ticket confirmation too. Jerks.
