While not completely in the hundred blocks, they are very close. I think we can call the alphebetical filing and assigning of numbers theory accurate.

9:43 fedex confirmation #87xx Last name begins with M

I finally received my confirmation e-mail.

Confirmation #100**.
Faxed application in at 10:30 am PT on Tuesday.
2 tickets to all 3 first round games, 2 tickets to Round of 16 game.
Last name begins with A.

Until 30 minutes ago, I was worried before about not receiving a confirmation e-mail. Now, I'm worried about a confirmation number greater than 10000.

The Quakes are moving. Darrell Russell and Mike Bastianelli, two of my favorite SC Trojans from the mid-90's were killed in a car accident this morning (R.I.P.). It's been a crappy day. :(

One bright spot: my Rose Bowl tickets are being delivered tomorrow.

Worst Case scenario:

1) you are allocated at least as high as the 9000th ticket.
2) All tickets before you go to first round games
3) At an average of about 3,000, that pretty much meets our allotment, leaving you on the edge.

Probable:

1) Guess that 75% of tickets are first round. Of those 9000 tickets, that means 6,750 are for the first round.
2) That is about 2,250, well below our allotment.
3) You are fine.

I got my confirmation email at 10 am this morning. I tried to fax all day on the 12th, then FedExed it and it got there at 9:43 am on the 13th. My number is 85##.

I only applied for playoff games. I went for all of them, round of 16 through the final.

I don't htink it's alphabetical, unless were talking about it being alphabetical within the various number sets. My last name starts with Ab, and my conf number is in the very early 8Ks.

That's the going theory, that the FedEx orders started at 8000.

Of course my Fedex that arrived at 8am seems to be a 9000 number while Fedex's that arrived later are getting 8000 numbers.

Who knows...

Exactly. Alphabetical for FedEx/DHL/UPS only, starting with 8K. Your's fits as well.

Aren't you forgetting that the first 1000 could be reserved for the USSF staff, friends, and random VIPs? That would place 5 digit numbers (assuming no gaps in the confirm numbers) close to the edge of our allotment even using your guess at the % of first round tickets requests.

Has it been confirmed that the confirmation numbers reflect # of tickets? If not and they are actually order numbers, than 5 digits are likely not getting tickets.

Mikey, you will be fine......

I did mine by USPS also:

U.S. Soccer has received your 2006 FIFA World Cup Ticket Order Form. Your
receipt confirmation number is 200XX

I believe the USSP starts with 20XXX, but can anyone else confirm who might have sent it this way?

Last WC, I did mine by US Mail and had no problems.

It's been a bit re-assuring that I haven't seen any numbers in the 10### range yet. Just keep our fingers crossed.

Our password came a day late, so we FedExex our application for Wednesday 10:30 a.m. delivery. My last name starts with a B. We ordered 3 tickets to the US-Italy game and 3 tickets to the round of 16 game. So, can anyone give me an optimistic decipherment of this? "U.S. Soccer has received your 2006 FIFA World Cup Ticket Order Form. Your receipt confirmation number is 200**." Because, like others, I see five digits and I think I'm SCREWED!!

Like almost everyone I had problems faxing, and I could not mail it before Tuesday, so it got there Wednesday morning at 10:00am via UPS. I received my confirmation at about midnight ET last night. Confirmation #202XX. My last name starts with an "M." Worse still is they began the confirmation email with the words "Dear HENRY MCDANALO" when my last name is in fact McDonald. Now I'm pretty sure that I did not misspell my last name the same way all three times or so that I had to write it on the application.
