'PRAGUE (AFP) - Two former referees could face trial for match-fixing after Czech police said they had asked the state attorney to press charges.

A police investigation centred on telephone calls made in November, 2003 revealed that 70,000 koruna (2,400 euros) was offered to influence a match between Slovak teams Banska Bystrice and Puchov.'

The current charges involve two Slovak clubs, but one of the men possibly involved is currently with Slavia Praha. Frankly I'm happy to see the Czech soccer scene getting cleaned up because match fixiting was such a huge problem a few years back.
