Yeah people just took other fax numbers for the USSF and sent their forms in. At least one of them got a confirm in the 1000s range. My guess is that the whole process ends up in court.
I for one would join that class action and I'm not the litigious type.

I agree, Im not the type who thinks "sue!" at the drop of a hat but if a class action comes out of this, they can put me down. Maybe the only way to effect change at the USSF.

The only thing a class action will do is make the lawyers involved a lot of money.
Besides, where in this country could we find a jury that won't laugh at us for trying to buy tickets to soccer games?

The whole first-come first-serve thing is inherently unfair. It's biased against people on the West Coast (never mind in Alaska or Hawaii), against people in rural areas, or Americans who live abroad like me. It's biased in favor of people with inside information, Chicago area residents, etc. etc. Give people a week or two to send in their applications, and then go by lottery. My app from Mexico City is just getting to Chicago right now: and I'm as diehard a US Nats fan as anyone, going back 20 years...

Do have another suggestion?

Do have another suggestion?
How about an on-line petition to consider all the applications that arrive within a certain period equally--say, in the first week or three days--and to award the tickets to those applicants by lottery? To prevent bias in favor of those with inside information and Chicago residents, and bias against people who are residents of the West Coast and who live abroad.

A lot of good living and working in Chicago has done me. I can pretty much see U.S. soccer from my office window, and I still likely got screwed out of tickets.

I guess you couldn't just walk up to the office and deliver you app then? You had to send it Fed Ex? Or by courier?

Yup. I emailed and was told that this rule was made to be "fair." I couldn't even do same-day in the same damn city without paying more than $100.

But at least Same Day shipment was an option. I paid 60 bones just to ship it to Chicago from California.

Yes. Mine was sent by FedEx and when I checked my email this morning I had a confirmation email timed last night after 8 p.m. central.
Was it a same-day fedex? When did your fedex package arrive?
Has anyone who fedexed for the following day (the 13th) received a confirmation email? What time did the fedex package arrive?

Nope, hand delivery was against the rules, as was courier (would have done either--In fact, I would have been at the door by 12:15 if I could have hand delivered it.)
One option was same day delivery through FedEx (tell me, what's the difference between this and courier?), but it has to be out the door by early afternoon to make sure FedEx gets it done right. And it clearly wasn't apparent that the fax machine debacle would happen. I faxed and faxed and faxed until 6pm, when I finally dropped the package in for overnight first delivery. My package arrived at 7:09am on Tuesday morning.
Plus, same day delivery with FedEx was $173--ouch!

Next time try wrapping your application around a brick and tossing it through their window... it might not be anymore effective, but it will sure make you feel a lot better about the process.

Dead wrong about the West Coast (can't say about Hawaii and Alaska). the Lottery started 10 am PST, and anyone on the West coast had a window from about 3-6 pm PST where most East Coasters were either told were after hours or they had left work/had no access to a fax machine. If anything, the lottery may be skewed towards the West Coast

Ok, now I'm reading that an email was sent out telling people there won't be a problem if they Fax and FedEx'd? What the crap is that?! Is this true? Can anyone else confirm this? And if this is true, is anyone who FedEx'd now ALSO going to Fax?
My package arrived their at 9:43A.M. CT 12/13 and now it's 1:07P.M. AZ 12/14 and I've STILL yet to recieve a confirmation email from them! I hope to God that they just haven't gotten around to confirming all the FedEx requests, but are going to take into consideration the time the package was signed for. :(

Well, since there is no accountability at the USSF, they can pretty much do whatever they want, even if they say first come first served.
As far as I know, only the applications that were received on Monday by fax are being confirmed so far. It appears that the confirmation numbers are going out based on when the apps were received...

It's only been a day- the FAQ says to expect a confirmation within 48 hours. Of course, the FAQ says a lot of things...
I'm in the same boat though- my forms arrived at 9:43am yesterday and I haven't received a confirmation yet. I think only people who got their faxes through on Monday have received confirmations so far (which would fit the 48 hours expectation).
