Yoss, help me out here. Does a link truly constitute stealing? After all, the term and the action of linking is merely redirecting someone to the original, no? Even if quoted the resulting script is a link, not an image. It's like someone pointing out a funny billboard but then the owners of said billboard say "Hey, don't steal our joke!"

I'm not very well-versed regarding internet law but it does seem strange to me that posting a link or an image could be considered stealing since the website that's showing the image had to get it from somewhere in the first place. Now maybe if they paid for the image, I can see their point....but as I said, I don't know enough about it to comment intelligently.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, though. Besides the "warning" image that popped up instead was pretty innocuous. A couple of months ago, Ben Reilly was trying to paste an image (don't even recall now what it was) in a thread on the politics forum. Instead of the warning message that you got....the actual image he ended up posting was a parrot perched on a dude's....errr...rather large....ummm....member....with some sort of warning like "don't steal bandwidth." It was pretty funny.

lol... gosh i guess i can see how, what i said could be mis-construed..
i just know that people take the whole pc "happy holidays" a little overboard..
and, there might be 2 jews in all of west texas unfortunately, and i dated one of em. some of the rude racist remarks used by some people around here are appalling.

I don't mind the Happy Holidays greeting as there a many different holidays for different religions going on at this time. I don't like calling a Christmas tree a Hilday tree though. That is like asking the Jewish community to stop using the term Menorah and use Holiday Candle Holder instead.

well I'm not sure I know of this 'hilday' tree you are talking about but a tree with lights, a star, and trimmings will always be a x-mas tree IMO.

AEG set to move MLS San Jose Earthquakes to Houston

Media outlets in Houston, San Jose, and Los Angeles
are reporting that Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG)
is scheduled to hold a joint press conference with
civic officials in Houston this Friday (December 17)
to announce the relocation of Major League Soccer (MLS)
franchise San Jose Earthquakes to Houston for the 2006 season.

The Los Angeles-based AEG was unable to
sell the franchise to local buyers in San Jose,
primarily due to the lack of a stadium operating deal
including ancilary revenues. AEG claimed
to have lost $20 million in San Jose during the past 3 years.

That is cool Cam. I enjoyed watching the Beat play before the WUSA went defunct and every once in a while I can catch a Silverbacks match. At least it is not the Galaxy right so that you won't have to watch Donovan play that much...... ;)

It is a lot closer than any MLS team is to me. Not really wanting to find another team to support but it would be fun to go to some matches that were close by! I don't think that they will have another USMNT match in Birmingham judging from all the complaints I read about!
