You also have to understand that it's message board internet dorks like us that even know of the US Soccer list and allotment. Average Joe isn't as likely to know, they are going after FIFA lottery tickets.
I totally disagree.
I'd be surprised if bigsoccer members numbered more than 20% of the ussoccer list they used to send out the applications.
Hmmm. Now I'm curious to know the exact number of interent dorks and number of people on that list

I received my email with my password from USSF THIS morning.
Thanks alot.
THAT is some BS. That's worse than getting stuck on the wrong end of a bad fax line . . . you might raise a little hell with somebody on that one.

Just received an email from USSF regarding the incorrect earlier versions of the order form. Looks like all is well and I won't be disqualified:
I had written:
To whom it may concern:
Apparently, the first ticket form that was posted on the website had some incorrect pricing. It was too late for me to resend as I already had delivered to FEDEX.
I hope that this will not disqualify me for tickets. Please charge the appropriate $ for the tickets I requested. The form that I sent in actually had a higher price (83 vs 66)
Thanks so much in advance. Hopefully my request is still valid
AND THE RESPONSE WAS : :)
Dear U.S. Soccer Fan,
Thank you for your interest in U.S. Soccer and the 2006 FIFA World Cup! We appreciate your patience in awaiting our response. We have received your e-mail expressing concerns regarding incorrect prices listed on an earlier version of the 2006 FIFA World Cup Ticket Order Form distributed for the ussoccerfan.com pre-sale. [sic - price listing]
If you submit a ticket order form to U.S. Soccer and you are allocated tickets, your credit/debit card will be charged according to the prices above. If you are allocated tickets and the above price changes cause the total amount due to increase (i.e. Quarterfinal pricing), U.S. Soccer will confirm authorization for the amount due BEFORE processing payment. If the price categories you have selected on the order form would have changed as a result, please e-mail tickets@ussoccer.org <mailto:tickets@ussoccer.org> for further instructions.
Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. We apologize for any inconveniences this error may have caused and sincerely appreciate your support of U.S. Soccer!

I just got my confirmation email saying they got my form and I'm in line. I have a confirmation # in the 1,000 range. I wonder if it started at one.
Basically you'll know you got it when there is an email that states: "U.S. Soccer has received your 2006 FIFA World Cup Ticket Order Form. Your receipt confirmation number is..."

When did your form get to USSF? Just trying to see if there is a connection between when it got there and the conf. number.

You also faxed to a number not listed in the email, right? So it looks like people who did that will get accepted. Of course this means that those of us who faxed to the number in the email and got through hours later could get screwed out of tickets. Nice. <Not directed at you Bonji...just the idiots at the USSF>
So it looks like between your 12:30 fax and mine at a little after 5 there were about 2000 orders since I have a confirmation number in the 3000 range. Not looking good for people who sent it by mail if we're right about the confirmation numbers.

I have a pretty good feeling that your form will be taken care of by the cleaning staff tonight.
No, actually I got my confirmation email today with a number of 20XX :)

Correct, I sent my fax to the main office fax after having so many problems with the fax number listed on the form.

Half an hour = "so many problems"?

I'll take it a step further than Cannon. This is directed at you.
Screw you, Bonji. ******** you.
That goes for all of you who faxed to different phone numbers.

whoa...
just a quick note from the more optimistic camp--there's no reason to believe that the confirmation #'s are directly related to the numbers of orders. Every number that has been posted has a 0 as the second number of a 4 number set. That's too big of a coincidence. I'm pretty sure that we're dealing with hundreds of orders, not thousands. if it's still hundreds (below 500), there's still reason to hope. let's not jump all over each other yet....let's stay us fans first and ticket purchasers second.

That ********ing pisses me off. Those of us who played by the rules were screwed up the ass. Thanks, buddy. Enjoy the matches.

For what it's worth, USSF says that the confirmation numbers are random, I called them a couple minutes ago. This is somewhat hard to believe in the face of the trend that the collected data in the other thread presents, but take it for what it's worth.

I was at work trying to do this. I tried for an hour getting a busy signal the entire time. My receptionist did for some of that time as well. I had to leave for a meeting and I can't waste an entire day on something like this. I got resourceful and looked at the USSF website. I took a risk and it paid off. Don't be pissed at me for your lack of imagination.

Its not lack of imagionation, its called following the rules. Are you that daft that you think we really diddnt see those numbers?
We were trying to keep the playing field even for everybody, which is apparently an outmoded concept.

Please, you sat there thinking, "I better stick to the rules so everyone has a fair shot?" Bull****. If you did, welcome back to the third grade.
