You'd think they would let you send it to the 1301 number...you know...since that would double their abilities.

My intent is not to rustle anyone's feathers, especially those of you that have gotten orders in already (especially through the "alternate" fax numbers).

Personally, I wouldn't do this b/c really it would be an ass move, but I mentioned this whole debacle to a friend that lives next door to me who is a big US Soccer fan and happens to also be an attorney. He just laughed at the whole thing and said that some enterpising (more like disgruntled) fan could probably challenge the validity of the whole thing if USSF didn't stick to their express written instructions, and send the whole thing into a Bush-Gore like mess.

Do we happen to know if Katherine Harris is running USSF?

It would be worth it to sue the USSF if nothing else but to get the inept AYSO leadership the ******** away from all things related to the National Team

You know what's really sad about this ********ing mess?

We won't get factual explaination straight from the horse's mouth. USSA won't put any of this mess into context. They won't belly up to the fact that they screwed up.

Mark my word: they'll deny telling people to stop faxing.

They'll probably use the Chewbacca defense, anyway. I dont see how we can hope to defeat that strategy.

Either that, or they'll go straight up 1984 style on us: "The USSF has many fax machines. The USSF has always had many fax machines."

I heard that former FEMA director Mike Brown resigned to become ticketing manager at USSF.

"Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job."

If it is true that they only had one fax machine working for most of the day, and the average fax took 2 minutes to trasmit then the math is in you favor:

2 minutes per fax ='s 30 faxes per hour
x 4 ticket requests per order
='s 120 ticket requests per hour.
if you got your fax in within the first 5 hours, then you're probably within in the first thousand ticket requests. My understanding is that USSF had approx 4k tickets to be alloted (not sure if that is accurate). Assuming all of this is true, you'd be in good shape!
Too bad I wasn't among the lucky ones.
I'm wondering how they're going to handle the hundreds of fed ex packages that arrive simultaneously at 8:00 tomorrow. How do they time stamp those? Will it be as arbitrary as whichever one the clerk first picks up wins?!!!

I don't see how it is an ass move. I was trying to fax it from 11:15 m.s.t just like everyone else. At 12:30 pm when I had to leave for a meeting I decided to do some research. It was public information anyone else could have found and used as the alternate fax number was posted on-line. Now, if some lawyer screws me out of some tickets, that is going to be an ass move.

What scares me is because of this mess, one would have to think they have no idea how to process these on a first come/first served basis in the first place. USSF should of really hired a professional service for this purpose.
Like someone pointed out, what happens if 1000 applications show up via FedEx tomorrow morning? How do they know who was first come? The one on top of the pile?
Meanwhile tomorrow moring some admin will realize the fax machine has run out of ink overnight and there are about another 50 pendning jobs in memory.

Hopefully all this worrying is for naught and we'll all be enjoying ourselves this summer in Germany.

I meant it would be an ass move to sue. I agree with you on that. But, with the number of folks looking for tickets through this process, I think what my neighbor meant was simply that all it would take was one person to challenge the whole thing in order to f#@* up the whole allotment process. Will someone do that? Probably not. Personally, I still believe that with only one malfunctioning fax machine and a small amount of orders to "alternate" numbers today, there is a much greater liklihood that most (if not all) FedEx (etc) orders tomorrow morning will get tix in addition to the fax orders.

Lets hope.

Im still confused.

I was under the impression that the USSF had enough tickets for EVERYONE involved in this presale, and that it was people who were not involved that would be out of luck most likely. Is that not the case? (I could just be naive - I also thought they'd have enough fax lines  )

I was one of the first to post the alternate fax, and the application form. Now Im kinda wishing I would have tried them, but I wanted to make sure my app didnt get thrown out, thats why I didnt send the fax before 12ct and use the alt fax number.

To you people that did fax before the url to the app was officially up and used the alt fax number. I say good luck to ya, im just not as ballsy.

Given that the USSF has been allocated between 3k and 4k for each US game, do you think there are more USsoccer.com registered fans than that? Very likely. This ain't all that exclusive.

Plus I'm sure everyone that ordered group stage tickets ordered for all 3 games. So while there is between 9-12k tickets to the three matches, they will be gobbled up by only 3k fans.

THere are probably plenty more than 4000 fans registered (lots of kids and stuff) , but I'm guessing the majority aren't likely planning oin going to Germany.

Right, so do you think there are 3-4k ussoccer.com registered fans? I would say that's almost certain. Natty Bo thinks otherwise though, and I hope for all our sakes that he's right! :o

Better hope my package is top of the pile then.
