i guess by placing all my money on Canada, i won't be able to retire just yet.

Nah, too expensive in the Bay Area. Besides, Chelsea might need another Russian at some point so keep saving your ruble comrade!

ha.....unless Chelsea drops down to Division 2 where they can play the likes of Chester or Macclesfield, i have no shot. I want to see the world too much to save money. If i don't win the Chelsea contest, which i won't, I'm planning on going to London anyways, just for a weekend.

You know, a Chelsea season ticket isn't THAT expensive. I'd have bought one for next year had applications not closed by the time my move was finalized.

Yasik:
We'd welcome you to Nevadas. GREAT time - guaranteed! Every weekend the NY Blues get folks from all over the world who are Chelsea Blue. Just like the Matthew Harding Lower! All are welcome - no matter what path took you to Chelsea. In Jose and Roman we trust!
Re: Latvia - yes the US outplayed them, but it's the final score that matters. Taking a double minor in the third was plain stupid.I'm patriotic - but not BLIND.
Re: Canada Red vs. Gator Blue - calm down, calm down.....I think Canada was just stating facts- and was, to his credit, self-deprecatory. Part of what makes a winner in anything is mental focus- and given the zoo that surrounds the team, their performance was a credit to them. (BTW - I'm supporting ManU vs. the Scousers this weekend) But - Florida is certainly diverse enough to support hockey, the second-greatest game on earth - rememeber where the Stanley Cup lives... And Gainesville- have you been to the second-best place to see Chelsea - Cricketer's Arms in Orlando? There, the staff serves banger sandwiches WEARING Chelsea kit!!! Died and gone to heaven, mind you.....
Have a bet for Slovakia to make the podium - sadly, it's only for a beer....

FINAL: Switzerland 3, Czech Republic 2.
Guess Vokoun isn't as advertised! Or, goalies travel better - Gerber and Aebischer are the only NHL vets playing for Switzerland, right? (I think there's one more, but his name escapes me)

Hey, as long as you buy drinks - which is what Bruce Buck did for about a dozen of the NY Blues two weeks ago - it's allright.

Lobo just posted an article about Buck in one of the threads. Check it out! And yeah, trust me, if i was about to buy Chelsea, i'd buy Nevadas as well............but no drinks, otherwise, i could go bankrupt.:D

P.S. Switzerland beating the Czechs is just crazy, crazy i tell you.

Nash's goal should have counted, but full credit to Gerber for even making a save like that, Canada looks like they're coming alive though...finally

Great game though...up and down all game. Canda looked very ordinary today. Not the game I'd expect from a team who "has the gold wrapped up".

Czech's chances for gold just shot down a few notches - jagr is out injured. I'd say it's between Finland - Russia - Canada - and maybe Sweden. Slovakia, of course are Dark Horses, but they do not have the quality that Russia-Canada have IMO.
