Eddie is alluding to the fact that the team will be referred to as the Anaheim Ducks - no more "Mighty", as Disney no longer has a say in the team.

R.I.P. Mighty Ducks of Anaheim....

Just a few notes on some transactions yesterday.

1. How stupid are the Penguins for trading Tarnstrom to Edmonton. He's a good player and he scored 16 goals last season. He's a good defensemen. I'd love him on the Flyers. Seems like he's a player they should be keeping with Crosby.

2. Freddy Myer is a good NHL player. Let's hope the Flyers call him back up soon.

Is there a more snake biten injury team in the NHL than the Flyers? Christ, now Radivojevic is out for 4-8 weeks. Forsberg can't seem to play more than 2 periods along with Pitkanen, Desjardins, Johnsson and Primeau for months. It doesn't look like Primeau will be back this year (or maybe ever). Good news is Johnsson and Pitkanen are back tomorrow. We need the Olympic break more than anyone else. If we can come back healthy, look out. Sorry Sweden, Peter has got to sit this one out.

No wonder why the Phantoms have returned to earth! All their players are across the street! (Always wondered - in Philly and Tronna does one get called up, or called to cross the street?

Technically speaking, there is no street between them AND The Spectrum is NORTH of the Wachovia Center so don't they really get called down to the Flyers??

Well, the Meadowlands are south of Pepsi Arena, so Jason might be considered to be called down. I think it's cool if you play in the A and the parent club is in the same city - though I think the Chicago Wolves are out in the 'burbs. Come home to the same bed, and with the differential (7X your AHL salary) get a Dux bed instead of that old mattress from college......

we are the masters of the shootout... 7-0.
jokinen is 7 for 7 in the shootout.. (amazing for this rookie).
turco has allow 2 goals on penalties this year 9-10 in the shootout, 9-10 penalty shots.

Sharks are exactly the opposite in the shootouts. Our captain, Marleau hasn't scored once in the shootouts. He is an amazing player, but has some problems in the clutch.

Some fickoing how over hte course of this season I have manged to see Crosby 4 times and I am going AGIAN TOMORROW! They are playing the Rangers at MSG. I'll be there but not before I see us beat Everton in the FA Cup. Tom/ (Chelsea NY'er) I'll see you there! Ryznar got scrwed to start since the Panthers pickerd up three quick penatlites. Devils sucksed tonight. Flyers rule now and forever. Just think, your nephew will be getting slammed on Monday night by dErian HAtcher. What a lucky guy! ;) :p

ya dude.. love to hear how the game was though at the garden.
7-1 right?
its incredible the turn-around that the rangers have had.
yer flyers were pants.

and btw, jokinen is now 8-8 in the shootout, doing the "forsberg olympic" twice!!!!!!
and we are 8-0.
absolutely incredible!!!!!!!!!!! i love you hockey.

Freaking Stars won again. I heard on it on the way out. Damn they are on a roll. I never even saw that Niinimaa got traded there until he got hurt. Nice pickup.

7-1. Never close. The game finished like 52-10 in shots. It was as dominant a performance as I've ever seen. I love the Garden. Hate the team, love the Garden. It's small, it's intimate and they still use an organ. I f'n love organs at hockey games. This a thing that the NHL MUST reinstitute. It's a hockey thing. Other sports don't really have it (though baseball tried/s). I mean, screw the new age rap rock in between plays. Give me an organ and I'll cheer.

As for the Rangers, I know rate them the #2 team in the East.

1 - Ottawa
2 - Rangers
3 - Carolina
4 - Flyers
5 - Buffalo

Just for kicks, here's the West.

1 - Nashville
2 - Detroit
3 - Calgary
4 - Dallas
5 - Los Angeles

Ok, maybe (probably) ahead of Calgary but not Nashville.

yasik..
good road point.

couple guys looked good for you lot.. that czech forward #9 looks to be decent, and mclaren looked solid along the blueline.
thought we might get another stars special (shootout), but arnott took care of that 34 sec. from time.

I have tonights Flyers game on tape to watch later. My grandfather is dying (I am at the hospital now) and can't wait to get home to see it.

Don't feel bad for him though, it's been a long time coming. We're glad it's coming to an end.

don't remind me. yeah, #9 is Milan Michalek from Czech Republic. He is fast. However, we get unlucky in overtime again. We are like the most unclutch team in overtime this year. If we went into shooutouts, we'd lose anyways.
