so Chelsea either draws

Juventus
Barcelona
Villareal
Lyon
AC Milan
or
Internazionale

who would you like to avoid?

*looks like getting first place actually would've helped

I'd prefer not to draw Juve and Barca. None of the other clubs give me too much pause, to be honest. Not that we're sure to beat them, but that we'd meet clubs of this quality eventually and would have to beat them. If I had to choose, Villareal and Inter would be at the top of my list. Followed by an out of sorts Milan and Lyon, with whom I think we match up very well. Of course, Juve and Barca are to be avoided.

shouldn't this thread have an R, given how it gives away some results today?

1. Villarreal 2. AC Milan 3. Inter 4. Lyon 5. Barca 6. Juve

I guess I did that wrong, but thats my list of best case first. But, I've never run from a fight so bring on Juve and Barca.

Inter, what better way to show Adriano what he is missing.

I fear the next round - if we will be playing at today's form then. We haven't exactly run on all cylinders recently - I hope we can get our act together soon. Let's build up a bigger Prem lead and learn to play the CL game better.

I think we'll up the performance when in the knockout stage, and it doesn't matter who we get drawn with as we'll likely have faced them in the latter rounds. Whatever happens, happens. I'm not expecting the CL trophy this year, not when we favor Drogba as a striker...

Honestly, if we play Inter, Materazzi might break Robben's legs. Other than that, however, they are probably the most favourable choice. I also think a Maka-Riquelme duel would be very interesting.

maybe Nice can do a poll. ;)

As for me, definitely Villareal. Then, Inter. Anyone else would be a really difficult match-up.

If i had to put money on who we play, it would be either Lyon (Essien/Tiago saga) or Barca (Eto'o and the whole Barca tirade).

imagine if chelsea did finish top of the group

they would draw one of these teams

Bayern Munich
Ajax
Werder Bremen
Benfica
PSV
Real Madrid
Rangers

relatively easier

As we saw with MANU, there are NO easy opponents in CL. You can even ask gooners about playing FC Thun.

2 wins at the end of the day. i hope for that against every team we play in the CL. undefeated.

yeah, but come on Phishy. We both know that both of those wins came from 2 goals in extra time. My point is that there are no easy match-ups whatsoever in the CL in round of 16.

P.S. Honestly, did you think Thun would give you such hard time?

i thought we would get a draw in switz. and absolutely hammer them at highbury. :)
but you are right in that nobody will be easy. except for 'gers.
they will get drilled by whomever they play in the next round i reckon.

Thought Thun would've been a bit easier......thought Sparta would've been much tougher.

To be avoided: Lyon, Barca
Would rather not draw: Juve, Milan
Bring 'em on: Villareal, Inter

Mourinho don't care who we play next. A true champ. Let Asrenal hope they play Thun next. When they come across Bayern, they get blown.
It is like Tysone beating up all those bummers, when he met Evander, he bit an ear.
