I would have to give nod to Wynalda up front. Not really as the best all around forward we have had but as the purest finisher. Wynalda also began playing at a time when the team had no depth at all. He had to create for himself quite a bit. I loved Ramos in the midfield, he could pass, shoot and dribble when need be. Even though Reyna is a different player he still has some time to sew that spot for himself. Pope I think is a no brainer. Meola gets the nod for now but when Kellers days are over I think he will get the push over Tony.

Seriously folks the only one that's even close is goalie with Friedel perhaps getting the nod. Sanneh is the only defender to perform in Europe and at the World cup. Reyna is our only player EVER named to the Best 11 World Cup team. While Wynalda actually lead the Bundesliga in goals for a good part of one season and is our current career goals leader despite not playing much in his late 20-s because of injury.

i hate to agree with Gints86 ... but I think Pope gets the nod over Sanneh. he performed at a higher lever for a longer period of time than did Tony. i mean, Pope was an absolute rock back there from 1996-2004, for every single game we played. even scored some key goals, Mexico WCQ in 97 comes to mind.

Wynalda, is pretty safe for now but a good LD performance on yet another World Cup and we will have somebody else on that spot.
