I'm going to be away from tomorrow until the 2nd Jan so feel free to start the match threads. I shall try and pop in now and then to see if anything is happening but I'm sure nothing will.

I think that's the Hotspur. If I'm not mistaken, a hotspur is a bird. Posh can give a definitive answer.
....I really have no idea. I have been told that the bird is the Hotspur, but I am not sure.
Can I interest any of you in my party tricks?

No you can't turn off all the lights and run around with your willy out covered in luminous paint.

So Toon², how's the weather been lately up in the North East? :)
After a spending Boxing Day in Manchester I'll be heading up your way, likely catching a  Sunderland match and possibly a trip to St. James' as well.

We don't have weather here around December. It just tends to be bloody freezing. It's been pretty dry and will probably stay that way until Jan. It will probably be about the same temp that you get in Washington, but if it gets windy the temp drops into the mid 20's. Basically bring a coat.
It only costs about 50p to see the Mackem scum but if you want to waste your money on that shower its up to you. :D.
Which match are you going to see? Since they are away on the 28th you must be going to the one on New Years Eve?? If you are where are you spending New years eve?

Cheers, man
It's been unusually cold around DC the last couple weeks (as billyireland could attest ;) ) so at least I'm prepared.
The friends that have so kindly offered a place for me to stay are Mackems, but one of my friends uncle's is a Geordie and owns a box at St. James'. I'm basically going with the flow while I'm over, but as you mentioned above I'd likely be going to the NYE Sunderland match against Everton, and possibly going to St. James' for the derby against Boro on the 2nd, the day before I head back to the States.
Hoping to make it to both, but we'll see how things go. I'm flying over on Boxing Day, arriving in Manchester, going to the ManUtd match later that afternoon, then spending a few days there staying with friends before heading up to the NorthEast. There I'll be staying in a small town (can't reacll the name) that I've been told is about 45 min away from Newcastle.
Not sure about my plans for New Years itself, but could easily end up going out in Newcastle or staying in the town hitting the local pubs for the night. :)

Well if it's 45 mins away it could be alot of towns. If it's south of the Tyne then try and spend as little time as possible there because with the exception of Durham everything between Newcastle and York is a fúcking shíthole.
As for New Years Eve don't bother going anywhere apart from Newcastle because they are all crap frankly and even if you do come to Newcastle you have to be careful where you go.

....did that earlier, but I didn't have any luminous paint, so I used Ketchup and super-glue.

Yesterday the 23rd in selected theatres. Expected to open nation-wide in early January. I would suggest you see it. Spielberg's best work ever.
