Steven Goff mentioned that DCU coach Peter Nowak predicts our group will be:
Argentina
Sweden
US
Australia
Certainly possible.
Either way, we're going to have to beat an European club. Won't be easy on foreign soil, but it's not as tough for us as it once was.

Considering the other possibilities, I'd take that group now. We can beat Sweden and those damn Aussies. Argentina would be tough though.

On what did Peter base this prediction?
Nothing.
I'm being totally serious...I lost some respect for Nowak. That's just moronic, to try to predict a random draw. And if he thinks it's not random, that the whole world is a big conspiracy, I don't want him coaching DC United. Altho, that might explain his treatment of Freddy.

Beating Sweden in Europe is a tall order!!

Jesus man. You need to relax a bit.
If Goff asked him who he thinks would be drawn together and he answered it, he is somehow worthy of losing respect?
My good friend Lowecifer made the very same prediction, is he somehow now worthy of less respect? People who play the lottery do the same thing everyday, I guess they are worthy of less respect? It's called prediction, he never once in any way said it was definitive. Sheeesh.

This is the dumbest thread ever.
When someone makes a prediction about the draw, it doesn't matter if he's Franz Beckenbauer or Jamie T****er - there's still the same chance that their prediction will be correct (and that chance is very small).

It is absurd to guess which of the 400+ combos will be drawn.
But not half as absurd as starting a thread on someone's guess about which of 400+ combos will be drawn.
Which is in turn less absurd than commenting on the first two.
What do I win?

It is. But I'd love to see Gooch go up against Zlatan. Talk about clash of the titans.

If he said anything other than "How the hell can I predict a random draw???" then it means he thinks it ain't random. Which means he thinks it's rigged.
For what reason would it be rigged? Money.
Which leads me to Freddy.

BEST POST EVER.
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to superdave again.

Incidentally, the part of the chat in which Goff cited Nowak's prediction was in response to a question that I posted (yes, really). So I, not kinstlinger, am ultimately to blame for this thread! :D
edited because I misread who started this discussion

Oh that explains it.
And because you know what he thinks, obviously you were there and he said. "Oh, it has to be this, because it is rigged."
Not at all possible he said "How should I know? I don't uh how about...etc."
No couldn't have said that. Not a chance.

He predicted probably the whitest group ever.
Not that it's significant.
Nevermind.

Then Goff really, really owes him an apology.

Then Goff really, really owes him an apology.
Why? He mentioned something in an online chat.
Are you telling me, that you quote people word for word, always?
I am pretty sure you care more about what Peter "could have meant" than Peter does about how Goff quotes him or what internet nuts like ourselves think of him. THAT I would place money on.

For misrepresenting Peter's thoughts.

You win. Peter is a conspiracy theorist.
