I consider myself a phan of 'good music'. I don't label myself indie because of my jamband roots but, for the most part of last year, I've listened to mostly indie music. I feel WAY fortunate to have caught CYH with only like 50 other people, one being David Bowie, back in June. I tell you man, the amount of killer shows here are almost overwhelming..for instance, tue night was Iron and Wine w/ Calexico. that day they announced an opening act: Sufjan Stevens....

pre 8.15.04 (phish's last concert):

GP can stand anything that isn't the greatest ever, Phish

post 8.15.04-

GP loves anything that is just Good Music. Phish breaking up was a good thing for me and my ear.

this year's fav albums, off the top of my head would be:

Feist - Let It Die
Mountain Goats - Sunset Tree
Hold Steady - Separation Sunday
CYHSY - CYHSY
Art Brut - Bang Bang Rock and Roll
Sufjan Stevens - (c'mon Feel the) Illinoise
Super Furry Animals - Love Kraft

not in any particular order....what about you, DL?

Agree with Mountain Goats, CYHSY, Sufjan and SFA.

I've heard the Hold Steady, and it just drove me nuts with all the Jesus references.

You have to check out Don McCloskey.

Also dug Sleater Kinney's latest, Steve Malkmus, Of Montreal, Broken Social Scene, Animal Collective, My Morning Jacket, New Pornographers, etc, etc, etc...

Saw them back in October with Destroyer - awesome, awesome, awesome.

I'm the exact opposite.

You should really check out My Morning Jacket. They're playing NYE @ MSG with the Black Crowes.

MMJ (see relix.com) has had to pull out of the NYE run as well as their euro tour 06 as the singer has suffered a bad case of pneumonia.

Definitely. With the move to Wilmington, Philly is only 20 minutes away instead of 45.

As phar as the local, state and phederal government are concerned, the ophicial move date is 1/1, but since I don't pheel like putting my Christmas decorations up, just to take them down, nor do I want to move on NYE, I'm actually moving next Saturday.

Congrats Liz!
Thanks! :)

The final was even easier than the midterm, and since I got an A on the midterm I think I can expect an A on the final. For the essay question we could pick between either writing about the organization structure of al-Qaeda and how its objectives differ from that of Hamas, or we could write about why religious terrorism poses a greater threat than political, secular terrorism. It was a toss-up, but I picked the second because it required less writing.
