Ahh, a fellow Beatles historian. I envision a great drunken conversation lies in our future, buddy.
You need the Beatles kinship for that? :p

:)

i took a Beatles class after i graduated for three weeks. One week on campus, the other two weeks in London and Liverpool. That was the reason I was over in London to see Arsenal complete the undefeatede league season at Highbury against Leicester City!

Paul got his ending at near the end of Abbey Road, but John got the last word:

Her majesty's a pretty nice girl,
But she doesn't have a lot to say
Her majesty's a pretty nice girl
But she changes from day to day

I want to tell her that i love her a lot
But i gotta get a bellyful of wine
Her majesty's a pretty nice girl
Someday i'm going to make her mine, oh yeh,
Someday i'm going to make her mine.

That's actually Paul singing.

When my son was a baby, and it was the middle of the night the only thing that would calm him down was me singing- I could only remember all the words to Beatles songs. He particularly loved Hey Jude and I Wanna Hold Your Hand....... :D

one of my fondest early memories of music is listening to 'Hey Jude' in my mom's 'sta-wag' (station wagon)...I used to ask her to put on 'the Bugs'...lol

OT BEATLES 'SWORD' FIGHT!! :p

The shortest Beatles song. It is 23 seconds long. Originally placed between "Mean Mr. Mustard" and "Polythene Pam" in the Abbey Road suite, Paul McCartney had it removed because he didn't like it. It ended up on the album as a mistake. An engineer placed this at the end of Abbey Road on a rough edit, and it stayed there. McCartney recorded this before the other Beatles arrived in the studio. There were no references to this whatsoever on the first pressings of the Abbey Road LP, not even on the record label.

(Actually, Dan made me second guess myself. Thank God for iPods, because I just pulled up the song, gave it a listen and confirmed that it's definitely Paul's voice.)

Actually, I kinda dig it. It's not the greatest song by any stretch of the imagination, and the idea is definitely better than the execution.
