I just found this on SI.com.
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/magazine/specials/sportsman/2005/11/29/thierry.henry/index.html
and added this in the reply section. Let's get the word out. The announcement is Dec. 9. maybe it isn't too late.
I was disaapointed in the coverage of the Sportsman of the Year on cnnsi.com. I see four links to brady propoganda, a few for Leinart, one for T.O. and none on Henry near the front page. He won't win because he's not an American but yet millions of youth soccer players idolize him. But yet admitting to reading! playboy(i just look at the pictures), taking one ballroom dancing class, or being selfish towards a whole organization is more SOTY worthy than the Stand Up, Speak Up campaign. Most of the stories for SOTY actual made me laugh that they were even considered. And if actual athletic accomplishment is required I think Henry most than fills those shoes as well. Can any other athlete fills Henry's boots on whatever pitch they take. i would think not but SI clearly thinks the opposite. The lunacy that is the American sports media, with all its hype, and mythilogical glamore, doesn't have the character or intergrity to even present this award to Theirry Henry. SI could prove me wrong, but I doubt it has the 'guts' to name someone that won't get the magazines off the wrack. Sadly, Henry message probably won't get to the average American sports fan.
