I'll go ahead and commit to this too. I've said it before so I may as well make it official.

Yes, Brazil = F1

I think they made it so Brazil and Germany would meet in the final if both make it that far. That would be the best final matchup. The hosts against historically the best team in the World Cup. We've had consecutive finals with the same teams before (1986 and 1990) so why not again?

germany and brazil in opposite sides of the draw??
what a shocker!!!
FIFA can have germany having any possibility of an early meeting with a team that can beat them .lol

soccernet confirms Brazil as F1

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/feature?id=351143&cc=5901

Launch the application and it shows all the teams/flags and Brazil in position F1.

No it wouldn't be the best matchup, Germany are a terribly boring and unappealing team and a long way of Brazil's talent level.

Brazil and Germany are placed in Groups F and A so they can play in stadiums that have larger capacities.

IMO this is crap!

Why not the luck of the draw, your already favoring two teams that know that they dont have to face each other until the final. If this is something they plan to keep doing than in the future always put the host in A1 and the previous winner in F1, why favor Brazil cause its Brazil... they one the previous WC so an exception can be made.. but they should keep the trend going.. HOST and previous Winner..

yes.. Brazil mght draw a bigger crowd in the bigger stadiums.. but its the WC and most stadiums will be filled anyways, regardless of who is playing.

Depends on the games. There were a lot of empty seats in some of the group matches in 2002.

I still think though that we will see stadiums filled this time around, especially with the insanely high demand for tix. People wont wait to see Angola face off against Trinidad.

No!

The stadia have been selected so that when Germany and Brazil play in them, lots of people can be in the crowd.

Germany and Brazil are in A and F so that they are less likely to meet before the final. Or in other words, less likely to meet at all :-)

THese boards are going to have 25 pages by the time the World Cup starts. With the groups defined tomorrow, there will be analyses and analyses as the tournament approaches, players get injured, etc etc etc....

Well, we all know that once the teams are all in place tomorrow, there will be a flurry of activity here.

I hope we get a balanced team - frankly, not a team with 3 "weak" squads. We need to face at least a measure of challenge in the opening round to get fine-tuned and to have our title appetite whetted.

Yeah, that's what Parreira's been wanting. Not a tough group, but not an easy one.

I think my ideal group, to be honest, would be something like this:

Brasil
Tunisia (or even Ghana or something)
Croatia
United States

This would be a pretty average group in my opinion. Tunisia is still the defending African champion and are capable of some things.... Croatia gave us problems and I think they will improve. A worthy opponent. Haha. And I think the United States would present a challenge. This also wouldnt be that bad of a group for the US. They are certainly capable of getting second place here.

This might not be a bad place for the US to end up. That way a loss against the World Champions would not put us out like it would in the next round.

Brazil and either Croatia or Australia. Will be VERY TOUGH though - the toughest group Brazil has had since perhaps 1986.

 '86? Brazil's group included the might of n.ireland and algeria

i think this came out ideal for what Brasil and CAP wanted, one its not easy and two it isnt hard, its more for the players then the fans, the players have to take every team seriously no matter what there past history is, and it goes through out the entire tournment, especially if we get Italy in round of 16
