I'm the type of fan that thinks we can beat everybody. So everything less then winning the WC is a dissapointment for Holland, so not interested in another semifinal or losing a third final.
But it's a very tough WC with like 8 or 9 sides who have a realistic change of winning it.

i'd be dissappointed with anything less than a semi final for england. Its the best squad we've had in years, brazil i don't think will win in europe and apart from them no one has a better team than us. 2006 is the best shot at glory we've had in ages or will have any time soon.

well, i'd be thrilled to see aus get to the 2nd round, but i also wouldn't be too angry if we narrowly lost out in the group stages but still managed to get a win over a)England b)USA or c)italy(they just really annoy me)

Getting out of the group stages would be a great accomplishement. Even if they don't, that's okay, at least they qualified.
That's what I like about this WC, I don't have great excpectations from my country like I did in 1998, so I can just relax and enjoy some good football. ;)

I expect us (USA) to put up a good fight, but to just fall short at the group stages. I think it's realistic that we could make the second round, but I'm not branding our cup as a total failure if we don't. It really depends on the draw. A seed, A euro and an african/s american team in Europe will not be easy.

It will be perhaps more difficult than ever, but realistically I think the US can make it to the quarterfinals.

I think that the USA can literally finish anywhere from 1-25 in this World Cup, which will make the draw & first round games so incredibly gut wrenching. On the field I see our team possible of anything, from the beautiful & decisive, to the horrendous and deflated.
That said, my expectations are getting out of group, and after that, I just don't know. Not getting out of group, no matter our pool, I would have to admit disappointment. Quater-Finals or later would make me more than happy.

6 stars. That's what I expect. Of course, like someone else said here earlier, it is a bit premature to be making these predictions until the draw is announced.

i expect us (germany) to reach the semis at least

I think that it is realistic to think that Argentina has to reach at least the quarterfinals. With the talent we have, anything less than that I would consider a failure.
After the quarters it is a crapshoot. All teams left are probably playing well and anybody who makes it that far will probably need some breaks to keep going. But I think Argentina is capable of advancing to the semis and hopefully beyond, if they get on a roll.

I'm not from Brazil so I have no right to have expectations for my team.. ;)
I'll just watch and hope for the best.. We've all seen over the years what can happen with any team that was expected to do things.. A good bunch of top teams never get past the group phase with the two underdogs from a group going on, for example.
Almost anything can happen early on, and even the later rounds, which is one of the fun parts of the WC.. Surprises..
