We're still in for the quadruple as far as I'm concerned, although to be fair I doubt we'll finish above second in the league.

I will be happy with fifth. Top Five:

Chelsea
Man U
Tottenham
Liverpool
Arsenal

I also don't think we're gonna win anything this season.

Im with you!

1st in the league might be a mountain but it is still doable - and you know we've never finished outside of the top 2 in what, ten year so I dont expect a 5th place finish behind Spurs!

Cup treble is a banker though :)

We finish third in the EPL (after Chelsea and Man Utd.)

We win the Carling Cup, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League.

We'll finish in the top four, probably 2nd or 3rd, realistically. But your panic posts are neither necessary nor appreciated.

I respectfully disagree. I have a great deal of appreciation for the consistent chicken-little-ness of his posts, especially when his username is taken into consideration. I mean, c'mon, it's freakin' hilarious!

I don't understand -- the title of the thread asks where Arsenal will finish, he gave his answer, and because you don't agree with his opinion, all of the sudden its a panic post. I know he's panicked in the past, but so what? Can he have an opinion that deviates from yours? Or does that make him a traitor? Pull your head out of the sand, my man. Arsenal is having some problems this year. Just because someone points that out that fact shouldn't constitute a threat to you.

You can still be a fan and realistic, no?

Look buddy, i just get tired of reading that kind of crap everytime we get a poor result. Look at the timing of this thread and post, one loss in the past month and all of a sudden we're out of the running for Europe? I'm aware that the team is having trouble and isn't as strong as it has been in the past, but considering the injuries we've had i don't see any reason why we won't finish the season stronger than we started. And what exactly is wrong with my saying i don't appreciate his chicken little posts? Can't i express my opinion that i think he's not only wrong but unnecessarily pessimistic? Don't be a hypocrite.

I'm not being a hypocrite. I have no problems with your prediction, but I do have a problem with your labeling him as "chicken-little" or possibly not a "true" fan because that's a value judgement of him as a fan.

His opinion doesn't include the claim that you're a traitor or that you're panicking. Your opinion includes a value judgment about him as a person, an ad hominem argument, and you act as if his opinion is a reflection on him as a whole, which to me is bull**********.

But isn't it a reflection on him? If he'd posted that opinion after a big win, maybe i would have given him some credit. The fact that it was his response to a loss makes it look alot like panic. And the fact that he EXPECTS Arsenal to finish behind our most hated rivals does make me question his faith in the team. Does that make him a bad person? No. Does it make him a chicken little fan? Unfortunately, yes. I'm sorry if you don't like me expressing that opinion, but if people don't want to be called "Chicken Little" then they shouldn't run around yelling that the sky is falling.

With a prediction like that, I would suggest that you change your name from "No.1 Arsenal Fan". We may not get a "clean sweep", but to say we will finished behind Sperzzzz! ?? I'll forward my razor on to you early to spare you the fate of watching until the end of the season if you think that is going to happen !

I don't even agree with the guy. I think we'll finish second in the league, maybe win the cup, and probably won't win the Champs. league, but that's beside the point. All season you've been claiming it's too early to panic, and now you say he can only question the team after a win. Why is it that you get to decide when it's appropriate to criticize?

I know it's not the end of the world, but the league is different because of Chelsea's money. Just because someone is a fan doesn't mean they can't be critical of certain elements, or the direction of team, etc. It's not a religion, you know?

I agree, however, that if this guy thinks that Spurs will be ahead of Arsenal at the end of the season, then HE is being very unrealistic.

Look... Relax. First of all, I do think its too early to panic, and really, when is it a good time to panic? I've always tried to be realistic about the team, and i can understand that people get discouraged by poor performances and poor results. But going around with gloom and doom predictions everytime Arsenal hits a rough patch is poor form, and honestly it really gets annoying. I appreciate that you're just trying to stick up for another poster, but there is really no need to, what i wrote was hardly an abusive personal attack. I never said that he couldn't criticize the team or make stupid predictions, i just told him that i didn't like it he did. And i didn't say he could only criticize after a win, i said that i would have given him more credit if he did. As far as me deciding when its appropriate to criticize, I believe i have the right my own opinions. You certainly believe that #1 Superfan has a right to his, and you have a right to yours. And as long as i have my own opinions, i'll feel free to express them as i like, and if people disagree with them or criticize them, that's fine with me. That's the thing about opinions, everbody's got one. ;)

I could see third, but fifth?!?! Finishing behind both 'Pool and Sp*rs?!?! I know I keep saying this is a bit of a rebuilding year, but not that much of a rebuilding year! I personally see second or third (with Man U in the other spot), quarters or semis in the Carling Cup, at least the finals in the FA Cup and I think we finally do some serious damage in the CL. I'm not saying we'll win it. But I am inferring it. ;)
