It is sad. He was the kind of guy who enjoyed what he did and to make people happy. He was always seen smiling. And let's not forget his charasmatic goal celebrations!

This is totally unrelated, but I think it's worth mentioning. Moderating is a thankless job, so to our two mods here I would like to say, thank you in advance for all the thankless and unappreciated stuff that you'll be doing for this forum :)

I was viewing the paraguay WC elimination game today with my father... and Otolino played great for the seleccion in our 5-2 victory...it was the last game we'd ever see with him playing... we miss this great player...

i was at the 5-2 paraguay game and was cheerin for oti as he was out on the field...then the news came a few months later of the accident and i was totally devastated. he was a rising star and an amazing figure for all the teams he played with. he would have been a tremendous asset to our squad this year in the WC. lets dedicate our winning the whole tournament to Otilino!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we miss u spiderman!

One of the reasons that Oti is missed at this time is because of the wonderful left foot he had.His right foot was good, but not as good as his left,he was a natural left footer(like me) And right know la tri needs left footers, thats our weak spot, the left side.Have you guys notice that we only attack on the right side,we hardly "subir por la izqueirda"And Ambrossi is not convincing me right about know.La Panterita Benitez is a left footer, but like we saw against Holanda,he is not ready for the NT.Reascos is not a lefty, there for has alot of problems when he plays on that side. And the million dollar question, why does LFS keep ignoring Jose Valencia Murillo.Anyways for this reason and for his style of playing, with heart and desire to win all the time,,el OTI is really missed.

Since his death, the NT's game offense has changed. In his appearnces, Otillino made quite an impact. I strongly believe that things happen for a reason but his departure confuses me. The question is why.

You are wrong, this picture was actually taken in Queens Flushing Meadows park in NYC.One time la selecion interbarial de la copa El Universo who were coached by Washington "chanfle'' Munoz made a trip to NYC to play against youth teams from the city. I believe the year was 1996,,,,,,,becuase I played against that selecion they beat sh!t out of us and Oti scored like 4 gols.

No I don't know that dud cause I played AGAINST Oti,not in the same team. And the majority of the people came to see them not us(the local team)I played for Zafiro F.C. from Queens NY.I remember playing against guys who are professionals right now like,Luis Ortiz,Richard Borja,Carlos Carcia, and of course Oti.Many poeple in the NY metro area thought they were la selecion ecuatoriana sub-17 thats why they got so much attention. If I do recall Oti was the goleador of that tournament.
