Good morning,
I talked to my friend today who is an arsenal fan. He lives in the Western Suburbs. He woke up early today to come down to the globe to watch the Bolton game. He went there with two of his friends to watch the game. All three of them are under 21, as am I.
I have been to the globe on many occasions to watch games there. I have seen the CL Final, Arsenal-Man U, the Derby and Real-Barca among others. At those times, the place was packed. Apprently this morning, it was not.
So the three of them go there, sit down and the waitress takes their orders: 2 cups of coffee and water. The waitress comes back and says that they have to leave, saying that "the manager wants you out and I will talk to him on your behalf." They we're not trying to drink, nor were they causing trouble.
My question is, does anybody know why this would happen?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I think it was a case of mistaken identity, honestly.
The Globe is Gooner Territory.

Maybe the owner smelled the spud stink on them from being associated with you, the way a dog can pick up the scent of other dogs carrried by humans.
Seriously, the bar probably recieved a citation for under age drinking and are being forced in to crack down to avoid further trouble. Happens all the time.

That makes sense, I guess if you want to go there in the near future grab someone older.

I too would love to kick Spurs fans off of the Globe, but I don't know why you guys were chucked out of this place!

They were carding on the evening of the USA-England game back in May, and my brother couldn't get in for that reason. Did they ask your friends for ID, or just kick them out straightaway?

I don't care who goes to The Globe. It's a great place and Jamie is cool, but I understand the whole crack down on under age patrons.
If you lose your liquor license in Chicago, YOU ARE DONE!

They did ask for ID's. This is just strange b/c I have been there a dozen or so times and nothing has happend. I've spoken to owners and such before and they have been awesome. I look nothing close to 21 either. Maybe it's just a 1 time thing. I have never treid to drink there only becuase it's too much of a gamble and it seems hard. I have seen them deny sale to guys who looked well over 40 b/c they don't have ID's.
strage, overall.

actually, jeopardizing your livelihood to sell two cups of coffee and a water makes zero sense.
you're obviously welcome to go down and 'see what's up'; but anyone with a sliver of sense will know what the answer will be. if you've had the good fortune to be able to slip through the cracks when it's busy there, great for you. but if you want to be able to again, it'd probably serve you better not to bring attention to yourself in such a matter.
apologies if i'm sounding like a wise-ass, as it's not my point. but seriously, this can't really be an outrage, can it?

I guess it depends on what Illinois licenscing laws are, because I know here in PA, before I think 8pm, kids are allowed in, and most places don't have a problem. Just depends if its a licenscing thing or not.

it's just rediclious I think. Second time in a year, as a place near my house, the Gin Mil, has started to reject me. The place has good food. And I have not heard good things about Gingers, so Im kinda in a pickle of palces to go

Hmmm, what do u look like, that may be it! lol Only joking. ;)
Yes, they would rather lose three customers than their license. I doubt it would be anything personal.
lol, In South Africa, you have to be 18 to drink and drive, lol, and i don't mean at the same time or under the influence, but rather you have to be 18 to drink and 18 to drive. ;)

admittedly, i am not 100% certain of illinois licencing laws; but i would be among the first to concede that if they are kicking out perfectly legal patrons, that would, indeed, be mystifying.

Did you at least have a fake id? ;) JK Dan. I can definitely see where you would get carded, though. Although as much as you are there drinking, perhaps it was simply a formality.

lol, but the rule is a bit silly. Usually people do new things alot, so this is almost encouraging drinking and driving! :D
And yes, even though u don't have to be 36, South Africa still sucks! :(
