Great Work Martin!

Gotta quibble with Lewis on the best 11 though. A handful of goals in the English 1st does not a best 11 make, particulalry when there are CONCACAF players at a higher level. Take your pick of Sanneh, Stalteri, or Stewart. Even Jazic is at a higher level IMO.

Personally, I'd lean towards Stalteri, but any of the 3 S's are defendable.

Well it's just an opinion and definitely the most debatable point. For me, Stewart left early and didn't play that well, even though he did play on a higher level. Sanneh missed half the year and was benched before he got injured (though unjustifiably in my view). I don't consider the Austrian league to be a higher level than Division 1, and even if I did, Lewis' production is so much higher.

Now Staltieri did play at a significantly higher level than Lewis, but for me, I just don't think he is any good even though the Werder Bremen coach and many others disagree. Just my opinion, and I would also add that I wanted an attacking player in the midfield, as Torrado and Solis are defensive-minded as well. Staltieri really plays more like a right back (though if I want to go there, he is clearly better than Cherundolo)

Love this thread, amazing work.

Rafa Marquιz is almost sure to sign for Barηa this Sunday or Monday, you'll hear about it in the press.

Re Canadians:

Kenny Stamatopolous debuted for Sweden Allsvenskan side Enkopings today in a 3-1 home win.

Nicola Budalic at Orebro in the same league is a striker, he always comes on as such when the team needs goals late (hasn't really delivered yet though).

Tam Nsaliwa was at Saarbrucken (Regionalliga), is now signed for three years with Jahn Regensburg, who just promoted to Bundesliga 2. Daniel Fernandes the Canada under 20 keeper also signed for this club (think it is a one year loan from Celta Vigo), but until he gets first team action you can wait on him.

Same with Srjdan Djekanovic, another Canuck from Vancouver who was sub keeper for Serbia 1st division side Radnicki Obrenovac this season; he went there from another side in the same league, Zeman. He is looking for a new club for the upcoming year.

Fernando Aguiar was at Uniao Leiria on loan this last year and is now back with the club who has his contract, Benfica. He has a year left on his contract there; they started the pre-season today in southern, sherry-drinking Spain (Jerιz).

You mean "Chivas" Martinez, late of the LA Galaxy. I can't confirm this yet, but I will keep looking.

You might be looking for other confirmation, but Chivas (who has US citizenship) is listed on Salamanca's official site:
