Now, I made a prediction after the tapping up business that he'd never play at AG and I stand by that, but, I wonder if this broken toe and transfer speculation means that he'll be gone to Real in January. My guess is that it's a 50/50. He may want to stay in England till the summer to ensure his place in the world cup squad, but, does it really matter, if he's fit, is there any serious challenge to his selection?

Wow. I haden't even thought of that (transfer window move)... My guess is yes he will play for the arse again.

I think he'll be here till the end of the year and longer... there really hasen't been much too much abuse from the fans, which a bit surprising. It feels like things have calmed down a lot.

If he does leave I just couldn't see it happening in January.

I think he'll be in the squad for Arsenal again as well, he may not finish his career here, but I believe that he'll play for us before he may move on.

Ashley Cole will play for us again.

Its only Ray Parlour

What kind of sense would it make to sell him in the january transfer window? He couldn't play for anyone in the Champions League and we'd be unneccesarily handicapping ourselves. Of course he'll play for Arsenal again.

Also, i think it's far from a foregone conclusion that Ashley Cole is going to leave.

There is no way in hell he will play for Arsenal ever again.

Okay now that I have said that he will play lights out from Feb. to the end of the season and will be key in our CL run to glory.

He'll play again. Not so much because I think he is burning with desire to suit up for the club again but, that he is concerned about reassuring buyers that he is fit.

I think he would have liked to have explored being moved in the January window but he has to know that with his injury, his first chance to bail will be over the summer.

Cole cant leave him an Campbell are my only defence when Chelski fans say , 'yea but wher are all the English players?'!

I think he will stay as we dont have the depth to replace him, as Clichy is injured aswel!

Anytime a Chelsea fan wants to complain about how "English" a team is, point to the friggin' front office over at Chelski and tell him to shut his yob. As soon as they stop paying their players in rubles, they can complain. Until then... Anyone who thinks we would be a better team if we sold Henry and bought Crouch because one is English and one is not needs his head examined.

I would love to have a side like the one Arsenal had, way back when, where seven of Arsenal's players were English internationals but, it can't always be that way. As far as I know, a Double is a Double, a Cup is a Cup and no one gets extra points for the accent of any particular player.

i agree with you, but Cole is also one of our best players aswell as one of the 2 england internationals, he has to stay.

I understand and agree to a point. But I would still like a couple more English like the Keown's, Adam's and Dixon's to but a bit more of the English bulldog spirit in on those cold nights up North.

I'm looking forward to Connolly coming through, he will be really something.

Ricks prediction for the 2014 Wold Cup - Matthew Connolly will lead England out as Captain and will also be Captain of Arsenal.

And believe me, I would love for there to be more English players on the team as I think it enhances the team's drawing ability especially if those English players are good enough to be internationals.

I just don't like it when people attack Arsenal as if there are plenty of English internationals being passed over in favor of equally talented or less talented foreign players. A lot of that criticism is simply because we happen to have a foreign coach, I think. I just hate the way that fans of other teams make it sound like Arsenal has an aversion to domestic players.

I think the fact he's french and we had 3 starters for the French team for a few years didn't help. These days foreign coaches are the norm.

Arsenal doesn't have an aversion, but our youth system is not exactly great is it? All these youth stars of the future have been bought in from elsewhere. Thats what I fear, and as will most London fans. At some point Arsene will leave, that will take away his network of scouts that we've relied on for the past 7 years to get us these great youngsters. Then we won't have a youth system or a way of scouting the best talent, not to mention the money to go and buy stars. That is a very real possibility in 8-10 years time. I know that is a long term view and probably longer than many have been fans, but that is how you have to see the club - and it isn't a great prospect at the moment.

Plus points:
In 8-10 years time we'll have a much larger income (AG on line)than now, so we can afford to actually buy players.

When Wenger does stop being manager of Arsenal, what will he do ? There's a good chance that'll he wont manage another club, and he'll end up with a director of football type job at Arsenal. Let's face it, if the bloke retired, what would he do apart from watch football videos ?

The board will discuss his future with him, and he'll be honest enough to let them know if he does want to go, and give them plenty of time to bring other scouts in, so it's not a rush job.

In 10 years time we'll be happy to have a break from winning the league 5 times in a row with players such as Cesc, RvP, Lupoli, Clichy, Reyes, Senderos, Toure, Eboue, Hleb, etc. all coming good over the next few years.

See, it's not all bad is it ?

My concern is that Wenger will leave much sooner than you project if David Dein continues to make in-roads into the F.A.

If Dein were to leave the club, then Wenger potentially would not be far behind, and I think this is something that could well happen before the paint is dry on the new stadium.

Pretty much what most of us have been saying all along really - enjoy the good times while they roll - nothing is forever.

I wouldn't, but it was more trying to make a point about the old defensive guard to be honest. I was a great Parlour and Merson fan.

Wenger is a proffessional football manager, not a fan. Unfortunatly therefore he doesn't think like a fan.
