I know a couple of folks are going over for the holiday fixtures and I plan on going over for the match on the Jan. 3.
Are there going to be any American Gooners over around this time, particularly those not travelling with wives or kids. Due to the price of mid-week flights, I'm probably gonna have to stay for longer than I originally planned. Other than the day of the 3rd, I have nothing planned and nothing particularly to do.
Anyone got any ideas or activities planned. Any other matches that people are going to try to catch.
on the 2nd there are 2 fixtures in London- West Ham/Chelsea, Fulham/Sunderland
on the 3rd Arsenal play Manchester United
only match on the 4th is in Manchester
no more premiership fixtures until Saturday, but the draw isn't out yet.
Thoughts? That January 2 at Upton Park sounds interesting.

Billy - great you'll be back so soon.
If you want to go to the game in Manchester on the 4th you're welcome to come and stay. I'm back at work that day so you could give your liver a rest!

If you want, I'll be there until the 3rd (no, not going to the Man U game :( ). There's a sports complex 1/2 block away from Rick's. We can work out together (I promise to be gentle). :p
Good to hear you'll be there, Billy (I might need your services for this trip). :D

Oh he's doing his usual crazy journey of taking the bus from Montreal to New York, then flying from New York to Montreal with Air Canada and then flying to London. Makes perfect sense saving the $7.42............. ;)

I love Jim's. Funny story:
Last fall, a particular visit to Jim's had special significance in that my sister had just been diagnosed with pre-cancerous cists on her vocal chords - a devastating blow for a professional opera singer. She was seeing a voice specialist in Philly, and I was taking her to Jim's as a welcome distraction.
We were waiting to cross South St to get to Jim's when I heard a "pop" overhead. I instinctivly grabbed my sister, and pulled her over to the left. The very next moment, a window fell and smashed into the street - right where we had been standing. I more or less saved her life.
When we got to Jim's everyone in there had seen what happened, and were making a big deal out of it. They were trying to tell my sister that she owed me big time, and couldn't believe it when I paid for lunch. She was so embarrassed.
For Christmas that year, my sister got me a book called "101 things to do before you die". One of the items I was able to check off? "Save someone's life." :D
