I hate these threads, but Im starting it as Ive just looked at the list of teams we have left in the Competition.
Bolton, Blackburn, Birmingham, Doncaster, Man U, Middlesbrough and Wigan. Maybe it's just me, but why the hell can't a nice close team be there? You just know we're going to get an away game.........somewhere like Wigan, Boro, Doncaster etc on a cold night in the North. Out of those who do I want? Man U - I hate Birmingham and it's the next easiest journey.

Travel aside, I think B'ham or maybe Doncaster. Wigan was not an easy match with no LB, Bolton can be a pain, Mancs are just annoying and face it Arsenal haven't had too much luck at OT.

I'll take any of them because i think our reserves can beat any of those teams. If we progress to the semis though i would like to see a few more senior members and maybe win it. I know its not that prestigious but would still be a trophy in the last season at Highbury.

Yes, but travel only affects you and Judy.. and for Judy those are all uber close.
So stop whining!
I'll take the mancs.. get it over with.

Blackburn due to the fact we've done em recently and will have the pychological boost in that fixture.
Doncaster because its a rare fixture
Not Man Utd though cos I wasnt them to go as far as possible. Hopefully make it a bit easier to knick second place from them :)

i wouldnt mind seeing 'boro again, just to have some revenge for THAT match earlier in the season.
but truly, it has to be manyoo doesnt it? would be a great challenge for our kids to play their team, and perhaps to exact a little revenge for what happened up in manchester a year ago.

I say Doncaster, I'd like to see us win the League Cup this year, and i'd like it to be a win over ManU in the final.

Doncaster...I know that if we face ManU, Ferguson will play a lot of their first team, and I know Wenger will stick with the youth. So let's save them for later, when Wenger will be more willing to use the big guns.

Fergie didn't last year against us in the quarter final (would be the same game.. how fitting)
In fact there was a bit of manager one upmanship in the press over could put out the s**tiest squad of no names.
Last year's CCQF manyoo squad. What a s**t side, how did we lose?
* Tim Howard
* Phil Neville
* Wes Brown
* John O'Shea
* Quinton Fortune
* Chris Eagles
* David Jones 79
* Eric Djemba-Djemba
* Liam Miller
* Kieran Richardson
* Kleberson
* Giuseppe Rossi 79
* David Bellion

That ManU lineup was hardly attractive, but it definitely wasn't a bunch of kids. That's a pretty experienced reserve side.

Choices and more choices. Maybe Wigan or Doncaster as it would be a way I could see the club again before I leave at the end of Feb.
Birmigham, not too sure.
United, want to wait on.

OK, but that team still had vastly more premiership playing experience than ours. But we did only lose because of a CB (Djourou?) slipping and then a bad gaffe by Almunia on the resulting shot. Ferguson will know that our youngsters are way better than last year (and better than his youngsters), and will IMO start more first teamers if we face them. But wouldn't it be nice to have our young guys embarass ManU...

Indeed, but i never said it was. (I was replying to a comment about fergie playing only first teamers.)
A pretty experienced (half) reserve side of s**t! Sorry, personal bias has gotten the better of me again.

IIRC, bellion took advantage of a Djourou slip in the first minute and slotted one past almunia.. then i think there was that flying elbow from van persie in the second half that ticked off kieren richardson.
love to have us play our kids vs their first team at highbury this time round.. or in the final.

It was a rhetorical question but I agree.. that'd be a great final.

My thoughts exactly. I am confident of our squad against the prem. I'd even take the chance of your youngones playing up to the expectations and beating the mancs. That would be a lovely victory.

I want Bolton at Highbury. I'd love to see what excuses Allardyce comes out with when our kids kick his sorry arse back up North. I hate that ********er.
