Yesterday the Columbus Crew traded forward Cornell Glen to Colorado for defender Ritchie Kotschau. That opened up a senior international spot, which the Crew have two of. This week Sigi Schmid is in Sheffield, England to scout talent. Stern John has been named as one of the guys Sigi is going after, even though John still has one year left on his deal. Though John does own a house in Columbus and vacations here during the summer.

Although Stern John was a success at Columbus before moving to England, I doubt he will return to the US to play. Besides, if he has a successful WC his stock will rise which will give him far more options after Germany.
