How the link works. I would just post all the pictures but, it's late and I am lazy.
Sorry about the quality of the pictures. At the time of the tour, it was windy, threatening to rain and I had been awake for 36 hours.
Hope you enjoy

Definitely an Arsenal legend! The boy who stepped off of the North Bank onto the Highbury pitch to play for the team he supported!

Mr. Charlie George is honestly one of the nicest celebrities I have ever met (and I lived in LA and the wife's family are actors so, I have met quite a few). You couldn't have asked for a more personable guy to meet or a better tour guide. My wife's first words whenever we show people pictures from the honeymoon and we get the tour are, "You wouldn't believe how much Arsenal let us wander around and he (Mr. Charlie George) was just the nicest guy. So friendly and easy to talk to." He sat and talked with Kelly and I for a long time. We discussed the status of soccer in the States and what his experiences here were like back when he played for Minnesota. We discussed Columbus (he was impressed that we were the first US city with a soccer-only stadium) and Brian McBride. We chatted about the past of the team and the state of football with the emergence of billionaire owners like ass-face at Chelsea. And the speaking he did when he was talking to the whole group was just great as well.
When we first started, he was talking to the group and he kept looking at me while he was talking. I figured it was because I looked pretty rough having been awake for 36 hours. He said, "Do you realize you haven't stopped smiling since we started?" I was kind of embarrassed as everyone turned to see to whom he was speaking and I said, "I honestly never thought I would get to see all of this. I have been a fan for about 20 years and have never even been to England much less HERE (Highbury)." He just smiled in an understanding way and nodded at me and started talking to the group again. Kind of a cool start to the tour and the basis for us to start talking later.
I am sure the other legends are nice guys and really informative but, if I can make a biased recommendation, get Mr. Charlie George if you can for your Legends tour. You won't find a better guide or a more genuinely nice man. If I can swing it, when I come back for a match this spring (praying this happens) I will try very hard to take another Legends tour with Mr. Charlie George. So much I missed last time due to sleep deprivation and so many questions I have for him after having read his auto-biography. His autographed auto-biography that is...

Ah man, it sounds awesome. i really wanted to go on a tour when i was there, but apparently they don't do them on european weeks. I still got to watch a game though!
BTW, Does any1 know how the tours will be at the new stadium? Will there be different players, etc?
I had 5 minutes to waste until it was 7pm so that i could connect to the internet. So i doodled a Charlie pic, and then i came on here, and you gut are speaking about the legend himself.....freaky co-incidence?
BTW, Yes I know its shite, even if i did it in 5 minutes exactly. :)

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to deaner1971 again.
I need to pick up Charlie George's autobiography. In the Arsenal 501 goals DVD, he sounds like the nicest guy in the world.

I'm going to the Dover Gooner's Christmas party on Sunday and Charlie George is the guest speaker. Am really looking forward to it. Perry Groves was speaker last year and he was great.
I'll tell Charlie you said "Hi" Dean. :)

Great pics! I love the fact that you thought to take pictures of the North Bank Male Toilet for posterity. Ha, Ha! Congratulations on meeting Charlie George.

I had to take a leak at the Spurtz away and I can tell you that even our pisser is superior to theirs. The bathroom at Spurtz is comparable to the men's room at a 76 station on a remote section of freeway in Goatscrew, Nevada during a 100 degree day after an entire gang of bikers with an intestinal parasite have just been there and the only cleaning materials is a three day old bucket of sick.

I never watched 501 until after I had already met him but watching it, you pretty much get the essence of the man.
His biography can, at times, be a bit of a tough read. He seems to feel like there are a lot of things "out there" about him and he seems a bit sensitive about his reputation and his legacy. He shouldn't be but given they way that parts of his career unfolded, I can see why.
