So We're going to dominate our opponent so much that we'll send home our senior squad and bring in our U17's to finish the job?

So I'm guessing that you missed Henry's stunning 28 meter strike that beat Given, won the game 1-0, and basically secured France a world cup appearance.
He must have tuned that out. Or he was rooting for Ireland!

Translation.... Peter Luccin at Athletico Madrid. I remember when he was a "standout" at L'OM. I think the NT has sufficient depth at the Dmid position at the moment though.

Can we please get Johan Micoud in this side?
He appears to destroy everyone in the Bundesliga and the CL and gets no callup or place.
It stinks.
And I will be damned if this whole Ligue 1 > Bundelsiga equation comes into it.
What is Psychic Ray's problem?

I like Micoud as much as the next guy, but he's certainly not going to help this geriatric squad with his youth.... What is he 34 years old? Eeeek..

Well, I certainly wouldn't mind switching him out with Dhorasoo.

I have to disagree with you. They're not even playing regular club football at the moment. To be called up, they'll have to claim their places in first-team game. They're not yet ready to face national scene.
So what about Benzema now? with his goal against Rosenborg and man of the match?
i think he needs a chance.

If you're not a regular for your club, you don't need to be called up. He's one Tournament away from getting his shot... Patience.

A few years for Benzema and a spell in the u21's should do just fine...

Well someone was saying that the French federation tends to coddle their young players too much. As opposed to other countries like England and Brazil who believe that getting experience at a young age is a good thing.
If Benzema doesnt get any first team action it could be a direct result of this philosphy: dont push them too hard, they're too young they might break.
and then you look across the chanel at players like Rooney who's a veteran already. No wonder our national team is so old.

On the other hand, might be a good idea to give him 1 cap in a friendly, then send him to the u-21's so that Tunisia or Morraco or whoever he has his second nationality with can never call him up...... :) You've got to be crafty with these things.

I agree, but you have to remember that the Rooney's and the Owen's were regular's with their squads before they ever got called up.... Not only that, but they were putting up serious numbers before getting called up. Both Owen and Rooney were filling up the oppositions nets......

for real. that would suck if they persuaded him to play for "the other country".
1 cap in a friendly would make me very happy.

From what I've seen of Benzema - I don't think he is ready for senior national team football.
Especially on the basis of one goal in the CL.

I think that Louis Saha should be recalled and singama pongolle should get a chance for the team

One two-goal game is enough to look past a year of injuries? Let's see how Saha's recovery progresses at United first. I bet he'll be out injured again within a month.
