I just bought a Syba USB 2.0 card (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16815124008) off of newegg for $8 last week. I'll report on it Wed. if you like. I was sick of it taking my Shuffle 45 minutes to update

And really just get the cheapest card that does what you want. I got a $5 Firewire card for one of my computers and it has worked great for a long time.

IT actually does matter somewhat what your chipset is. You can't get some of the really cheap-o cards that use generic chips. Look for ones with a NEC USB chip, as it seems those are more compatible with more OS's and MB chipsets

This card is great so far. It installed on W2K Server Sp4 with no problems. Windows didn't find the drivers right away, but everything installed automatically upon insertion of the driver disk. My wireless keyboard/mouse combo doesn't like it for some reason. They worked, but in slo-mo. I had to plug the receiver back into the old v1.1 ports on the motherboard. My iPod Shuffle was transferring data at about 300-400kbps, but now I'm getting about 3500kbps. What used to take about 45 minutes to update 1gb of music now takes 4-5min. Best $7 accessory for my iPod I've bought.
