excellent draw... if we keep our focus, we should advance. That said, the swiss and koreans are both solid solid teams and any slipups will see another embarassing exit.

Yes. A good draw. You might look at S. Korea and say that they were semifinalists in 2002 but I don't expect them to be nearly as strong on European soil. The Swiss we know well and Togo we shouldn't underestimate but I dont see them being another Senegal. They just dont have the players.

I feel a bit sorry for Holland but I think they can still advance, since I see them beating out Ivory Coast.

I think Togo will be that little bit more fired up to play well though...

Switzerland is our new Denmark since Euro2004...

We won't complain about this draw, it's really up to the team to progress in the competition.

Yeah JB, I really thought it was going to be Saudi Arabia instead of SK at one point. :D

'I have the impression it's still the qualifying rounds,' he said. 'It's a bit tiring (facing the Swiss again). I would have preferred to meet another team.'
-Raymond Domenech

Yeah, well, I would have loved to see his reaction if we had drawn Holland!

Excellent draw indeed. Let's Hope France and Korea advance.

I would not think too easy of Togo as some of you are. African NTs tend to have speed so an upset is a possibility for any other 3 nations.

Cheers.

Honest question ....do you french think your recent record with the Swiss is because theyre really good or is it because youre not as good as you used to be?

France and Switzerland have many points in common. Several
international Swiss players play their trade in France, among them, Frei at Rennes and Muller in Lyon. They know some of Les Bleus very well. In their last meeting – in the qualifying campaign - the Swiss didn’t lose (the games finished 0-0 in France then 1-1 in
Switzerland).

France and Switzerland are best placed to dispute the following round. The two countries are bordering on Germany and should be carried by many supporters. Far from their home stadia, South Korea are seen as Outsiders. For their first participation, Togo will try to limit the damage. And who knows, the Sparrowhawks could perhaps emulate the performance of Senegal in the 2002 World Cup 2002...

1. France
2. Switzerland

I thought our results against the Swiss were purely a result of our ineptitude until I saw how them against the Turks. The Swiss have a quality side at the moment.

Thanks for someone finally admiting it. :)

I just want to also mention that Switzerland have a lot of very young talents that are 20 years old or less: Vonlanthen (youngest scorer of EURO ever), Senderos who plays in Arsenal, Behrami that every teams want to buy right now (MU, Real Madrid just to metion 2 of them) Barnetta, Chiumiento, etc...

There is no doubt the Swiss Squad has quality players...with an average of 24 years old.

The Swiss are like the Swedes really, not a bunch of stars but they have an excellent team.
