Here goes another thread start, I don't believe that there are any 'easy' games in the Prem, and when it comes to tough ones, this match will be one of the toughest so far this season, with the exception of NRC and Walker we haven't any other injuries, apart from this being a massive game for us it will also be an emotive one with George Best's passing, I sincerely hope that the fans show their utmost respect during the minutes silence, and get 100% behind the team for the following 90mins. As for the playing eleven, this is all I have to go by:
West Ham United (from): Carroll, Hislop, Repka, Ferdinand, Gabbidon, Konchesky, Benayoun, Noble, Dailly, Newton, Mullins, Etherington, Sheringham, Harewood, Zamora, Bellion, Aliadiere, Bywater.

Manchester United (from): Van der Sar, Howard, Brown, Neville, Ferdinand, Silvestre, O’Shea, Richardson, Scholes, Smith, Fletcher, Park, Rooney, Ronaldo, Van Nistelrooy, Saha, Rossi.
UP THE HAMMERS!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed Claret, the passing of George will add a poignant twist to the proceedings on Sunday, not to mention the added urge for Man U to 'do it for Besty'. It's a big ask for our team anyway, but I feel today's events may well count against us even more. I hope we can somehow raise our game to match Man U on what is going to be a very emotional day.

I think it's great that we play them this weekend. West Ham will give him respect. I always wished I'd been able to see him play.
I think we'll do well.

Great player. I saw him many times. He did have that bit extra, and no doubt about it.
Looking forward to the game. Very glad Claret started the thread. Having a feeling he may be on a run. He he. We know who to blame if we go down. :)

I hope West Ham U wins tomarrow. I hope Yossi Benayoun scores multiple goals, he usually plays big in these types of games. Good luck to WHU and I hope we settle for nothing short of a victory. C'mon Hammers.

Barthez: 'I tried to con Di Canio'
By Chris Borg

Flamboyant Manchester United goalkeeper Fabien Barthez has admitted that he tried to con West Ham's Paolo Di Canio by appealing for offside as the striker raced towards goal in the clubs' FA Cup clash at Old Trafford.

Barthez stood motionless with his arm aloft after the Italian had been played in behind the United defence. But as the linesman kept his flag down, Di Canio slipped the ball beyond the United keeper's last-gasp bid to save.

The goal proved to be the only one of the game and saw Harry Redknapp's Hammers knock the hot favourites out at the fourth round stage.

Now the United keeper has admitted he had hoped his appeal would dupe the West Ham star into thinking he was offside and break his concentration.

He confessed: 'I wanted to fool Di Canio. I knew all along he was onside. I had seen that the linesman had not put his flag up.

'I wanted him to stop playing. If he had just taken his eye off the ball for one second, I would have grabbed it. But he didn't fall for it and we are out.'

I'm hoping it will be on at the local pub, the manager is a Man U supporter, But I dont know if he knows about Best. I remember seeing him score 6 on match of the day. The guy was a class act. Surely Norway met him at a party with Marianne? Anyway his death has taken this game to a whole other level. Lets have a great celebration of football.

The story i heard stomper was Georgie helped Norway and Marianne learn some Irish folk songs.
Certainly agree his death has taken the game to another level. Lets hope our boys can rise to the occassion.

What I heard was that they shared Mariannes mars Bar whilst singing Danny Boy, with Jimi on guitar and John and Paul on harmonies.
