This brings it down to the top 7 names, and this time it is a single-vote poll, so give it some thought.

Inter is short for Internazionale. So International is the same as Inter.

I voted for Toronto Blizzard, I know it is cartoony like the other mls team's names but it is better than having a bootleg eurosnob team name. Anyway, I don't want to see anymore FCs or Reals anytime soon.

Agreed. This poll is a joke without Toronto Falcons on the list. Its got history and I think the old logo might be the best in MLS with some modern tweaking (perhaps a maple leaf on the chest of the falcon).

Exactly. I voted for "Inter Toronto," but I like "Toronto City" too. I know that a lot of MLS fans out there don't like what they refer to as "Euro Snob" monickers, but I do think that theres real value in having a team brand that's instantly recognizable as a soccer-specific name -- particularly if the city in question, like Toronto, as several other professional teams in other sports.

As a D.C. United supporter, for example, I really can appreciate that United's distinctive brand immediately distinguishes itself from the other local major league teams -- the Washington Redskins, the Washinton Wizards, the Washington Capitals and the Washington Nationals. In fact, a couple of these teams have begun to copy us -- the Nats have an alternative cap/uni combo with just the initials "D.C." and the Wizards wear unis (or at least they used to) with the letters "d.c." in small caps.

And, if the Toronto MLS entry goes with "Inter Toronto" or "Toronto City," that wouldn't preclude them from using one of the other nicknames as a nickname. D.C. United, for example, uses its team colors to refer to itself as the "Black and Red," and similarly the Toronto MLS team could also refer to itself as the Blizzard, Falcons, Wolves or what have you.

I also agree that "Inter Toronto" and "Toronto International" are really the same name, and should be one category ie, " International " . That said, I also agree that Toronto City should have been on the list. I would vote for that if given the chance.

Frankly Blizzard isn't a good enough name, even with it's "history". It would be great to brand this team as an "international" team, for it would have international (USA & Canadian) appeal.

International, or any deritive of it would be perfect.

i think it should be Athletic Club of Toronto ----- AC Toronto

after all MLSE owns them and the maple leafs, raptors, and the marlies

This poll means virtually nothing, but is further indication that the Toronto Blizzard name is the most popular name suggested for Toronto's MLS team. It's a name that instills longevity, class and Canadian soccer history.

There's never been any doubt that the Toronto Blizzard were the longest running (70's, 80's, 90's) and most popular professional club in Toronto history.

It's now time Canadians stopped bickering over empty generic names that mean nothing to Canadian soccer fans, and embrace the only name that makes sense, the TORONTO BLIZZARD.

Actually, Toronto Blizzard is tied with Inter Toronto/Toronto International, which is really the same thing turned around. Whatever. Am looking forward to matching up with you guys in MLS whatever your name turns out to be.

It may mean the same thing, but they are two distinct and different team names. The only similarity is that they are both generic and unoriginal with no ties to Canadian soccer.

You need not worry, I don't think there is a single Inter Toronto fan in Canada. The same can not be said for the Toronto Blizzard.
