The Bundesliga side rejected interest from Galatasary and others this summer in the burly 29 year old but the Italian offer for Jancker has been accepted.

Why is there an "R" in this thread?

It's the official Bayern thread. We'll use it throughout the season so there will be many [R]'s in the future. It's better to have everything in one thread and this way I won't have to worry about changing it later.

Bayern Desperate To Get Rid Of Sforza

Swiss sweeper Ciriaco Sforza has been told by Bayern Munich he must find another club even though he still has one year on his current contract. The 32-year old former international was linked with a move to Aarau, where a player-manager role was lined up for him. However Sforza turned down the chance to go back to his home country and opted to stay with Bayern.

Classic. It's like the girlfriend who refuses to move out after you break up.

Easy draw for Bayern in the Champions League qualifier: either Partizan Belgrade or Hammarby IF.

The Sforza theater is quite amusing. I think he never left a club without having trouble. This time he first wanted to be transfered, but Bayern put the transfer sum too high (I can hardly remember any other case with Bayern doing this...). One part of Hamburg's officials who are quarreling for getting more power wanted to have him, while the other side was not too amazed ("I'll quit if Sforza comes"). Then there was the Deisler matter who wanted to have Sforza's no 10. Sforza said "He can have it, they just have to let me go". Now Bayern doesn't demand a transfer sum anymore. I didn't read the SoccerAge article, but the current situation looks that he's negotiating with Aarau to play there further two seasons to become coach or manager later on.

Hertha Dispose Of Bayern En Route To Ligapokal Semis

Huub Stevens' Hertha Berlin managerial debut was a highly satisfactory one, as the charismatic former Schalke coach oversaw his team march on to the next round of the Ligapokal with a quarterfinal success over Bayern Munich...

- Roque Santa Cruz (torn ligament in the right talocalcanean joint)
- Oliver Kahn (torn ligament in hand)
- Sebastian Deisler (damaged cartilage in knee)
- Bixente Lizarazu (Muskelbündelriss, can't translate but it's bad)
- Ze Roberto (Adduktorenverletzung, can't translate)
- Owen Hargreaves (inflamed tendon in knee)

Why bother showing up at Madrid's tournament...

Adduktorenverletzung is a pulled groin.
Muskelbuendelriss is a torn muscle.

There is, obviously, tremendous pressure on everybody at Bayern this year. More than even last year. Coming in second in the BL and not reaching at least the semis in the CL would be considered a gross failure.

I'm a bit peeved at Hoeness, though. After the Euro 2000 disaster, he was spouting about giving the German youths a chance, yet he still bought plenty of foreigners. Trochowski would have been a good fit for the big Bayern team (he plays on one of their junior teams). Come on, Uli, take a chance. Look at Metzelder's breakthrough, or what Bierrofka is doing for his club.

Uli will never do anything for German Football only for ************ing Bayern. He says Bayern has no time to train germann youngsters but for Santa Cruz they have the time an the Money !

His job is to worry about Bayern, not the future of the German national team.

Come on, Bayern has to start next week while Real has break until September. Regarding the physical condition it was hovercraft vs steam boat. Two years ago the German NT defeated Spain 4-1 under similar conditions.

i know that the date was much better for the bayern but they dominated real thats a fact but not very special.

but its very funny that real must give away this nice trophy out of pure silver :-)
i think they are not amused that this big thing is in munich now.

I can just say "Feulner". Feulner is one of Bayern youth. Feulner played in both games in Madrid.

I'm sure we will see him playing several times in Bundesliga.
