Just FYI:

Don Garber is expected to be the guest on the Glenn Davis radio show on ESPN 790 AM tonight, 11/23, at 9:00 pm.

You can click on the station's Listen Live button (http://www.790kbme.com/glenndavis.html) for the online stream.

Glenn Davis is a great guy. It's a good job he's doing putting together a weekly soccer hour on the radio station there. It seems like there is already favorable media situation there. I hope Houston gets an MLS team. I simply hope it's an expansion team and not the San Jose Earthquakes.

It helps when the guy in charge of Houston programming for Clear Channel, which owns ESPN 790 AM, likes soccer:

"I have a special place in my heart for the sport [soccer]," said Ken Charles, Director of Programming for Clear Channel Houston. "I spent some great Fourth of July weekends in Tampa watching the Rowdies take on the NY Cosmos with Pele and Franz Beckenbauer. Soccer is making a resurgence in America today and specifically in the Southwest. We recognize it and want to give that huge fan base a radio home."

ESPN 790 AM has also produced live broadcasts of friendlies and Gold Cup games held in Houston this year. (One of the local Spanish language stations has also broadcast some local games in the past, but it's good to see one of the main English language sports stations broadcast local games.)

Glenn also has two weekly columns in the Houston Chronicle, on Thursdays and Sundays. Also at the Chron, Bernardo Falls puts together a Soccer Page on Tuesdays.

I suspect that landscape has something to do with the "media interest" that Don Garber lauded when he was in town last week.
