watched the game vs the argies last night. I just wanted to ask, is that normal and/or acceptable how RIDICULOUSLY rough the Sarsfield players were, with no consequences? Is it a homefield advantage thing, and does this mean Pumas will benefit in the return leg? (actually, forgive me for not even knowing if this was a home and away format, i just saw it was on and i watched it.) Are the refs hometown refs or from CONMEBOL or FIFA or what? It just seemed like the Pumas players had accepted it and were trying to play and counter as well as they could, while playing in a double standard. Any comments?
Yes the games against some south american teams are usually that rough, and the refs don't do much either, no matter were they play. Next Wednesday is the game in Mexico and it's unlikely that Pumas would benefit from the refs, since we are from Concacaf people in Conmebol don't look at us kindly. The refs are from Conmebol, particularly in yesterday's match the ref was brazilian.

I agree with most of your post franco, but I wouldn't say the mexie league is mediocre.
...considerandolo en comparacion con los mejores internacionalmente es mediocre...pero de todos modos, es bueno y entretenido para todos nosotros...i guess what i ment is that as a mexican club, participating in international tourneys has to be priority for any team, especially in this cup and in libertadores...the world is watching

It is pretty mediocre. Palacios is Sideshow Bob. - Anyone get to Morelia this season to see his "performance"? Shocking. He did have a decent game vs Velez Sarsfield, but one dodgy moment giving the ball away on the edge of the box, thankfully Bernal had an awake day, and pulled off one of his 3 wonder saves in that game to keep the tie alive.
As I undestand it, 0-0 tomorrow will go straight to pens, no ET - any other draw & Velez Sarsfield progress on away goal.
Was it only me that wanted to see Cardetti come on?

Hi disco !
Totally agree that cardetti deserves more playing time and would expect him to come on as a sub against velez in the return. After all he has scored so many against argies !
As for sideshow bob, yes I did see that game against morelia and remember him falling on his arse a number of times. In fact I do remember saying at the time that it was the worst performance I had seen by a professional footballer (and I've seen scott gemmill play).
But lately palacios has shown that he is a decent defensive midfielder, or even a central defender. He must get a haircut however.........

Good luck to Pumas tonight. I'm 100% Chivas but I figure f-it, just cause a bunch of "porros" behave like "changos" doesn't mean all of Pumas does too. So, "metan la pierna" and represent Mex-Mex.
Saludos.

Listening to this on Radio ESPN, a bunch of queer Argentine commentators. These guys are all super-emotional, saying "Velez this, Velez that," then all of a sudden their voice becomes quiet and they say, like a mouse, "Gol. De Pumas."
********ing Argentines. Go PUMAS!!!
