- Interesting first half to the season. The three "B" teams are struggling, which is a change from previous years. I suppose it is a good thing as it shows the quality of the second division is getting better.
- Zizkov, and Drnovice are near the bottom of the table. Both clubs probably had hopes of promotion.
- I would love to see HFK Olomouc in the 1st Division. ;)

The 2nd division began last weekend, but only a handful of games were played the previous weekend and this weekend. The Czech Republic had quite a lot of snow this week.

I think Hradec Kralove have been in the 2nd division for a few years now, too long for a club like Hradec. They are in good position going into the 2nd half of the season. :)

- Each team plays 30 games.
- Top two get promoted and bottom two will be relegated. However, in previous years this hasn't gone to form as clubs have been relegated because of financial problems etc.

With three games left Kladno have been promoted to the Czech 1st division. The last time they were in the 1st division was 36 years ago in the old Czechoslovakian 1st division.

If Pardubice doesn't get relegated it has been reported that Banik Sokolov (Division 4) will purchase their 2nd division license. I think this will mean Sokolov will replace Pardubice? However, I don't know if it means Pardubice will go down to the fourth division? Pardubice is one of the bigger cities in the Czech Republic, and it would be surprising to see their soccer club in the 4th division. I suspect there has to be money issues with the club.

Big game this weekend. Usti nad Labem is at home to Ceske Budejovice. Budejovice are currently in the second promotion spot, three points ahead of Usti nad Labem with two games left (including the game this Saturday).

Ceske Budejovice have returned to the Gambrinus Liga after a crucial 2-1 victory away to Usti nad Labem. Ceske Budejovice have spent the past few seasons in the Druha Liga, but previously were in the Gambrinus Liga.

I think one of the interesting things about Ceske Budejovice being promoted is that it's Probosky's team. It seems that every soccer fan in the US is making a huge deal about Probosky being ancient and over the hill. Yet here he is, leaving a coach he has problems with to play for a second division team and the team climbs the table and get promoted. Sounds like that 145 year old guy did good.:D

Yeah, he has done well to get Budejovice back into the Prvni Liga. However, he was on the golf course when he found out that CB had defeated Usti nad Labem. Well, I suppose Ceske Budejovice didn't need him in the end, but I'm sure he'll still be an important player for the club next year.
