I used to love to make mix tapes.....my Dad still has several that I made for him. Lots of songs from his original albums like the Beatles, Who,the Doors, Jethro Tull, Cream, etc. My Dad's music taste is amazing!
Sounds like my Dad. In fact, that's how I got into the music I did. It kinda sucks now that he doesn't listen to music anymore. :(

Now that I am older, I understand how cool it was to listen to the original records like his White Album, Sgt. Pepper, Weird Scenes Inside the Gold Mine, etc.......I also got into music by listening to records with my dad........

Didn't watch any of it. I fell asleep sometime around 10. Damn, I'm getting old!!!!!
EDIT: However, I did wake up sometime around 12:30, responded to Anti's Kinks post, then promptly fell back asleep.

I could not even stomach turning it on! Watched one of my true guilty pleasure movies Die Hard.....I can't help myself I have to watch it every time it is on! :D
I know it looks to be kind of quiet around here today! Are you at work for the duration or will you be leaving early?

Old sod!!! :D (I of course am an hour behind and went to bed right afterwards!)
Well, I just renewed my BS membership. I was thinking of upgrading to the no-ads plan, but didn't really feel like paying an extra $17 for something that really doesn't bother me!

I'll probably leave mid-afternoon. For now though I need to get a cup of coffee and do some grazing in the break room!!!

I was planning on working all day, but my boss just IMed from home asking what was on my plate. I told her and then she replied, "I want to see if I can't get you out of there early today."

Don't take this the wrong way, but was the Staples Center sold out? I can't really picture Depeche Mode pulling in 24000 a night.

That should be great. Five goals in the first half - those guys must have gone nuts.

I was the same way. We had a brick ledge that ran the width of the living room. That was my stage. So on the end by the stereo I would sit with some pillows stacked up and listen to my parents albums. My uncle Steve was stationed in Korea. After he died we ended up with a bunch of his mix tapes (long before when we were lucky enough to have dual tape decks). They were awesome! Makes me wonder what ever happened to those. We also had this old blazer of my grandfather's that only had an 8 track, and we only had one 8 track. :) Needless to say, my brother and I have those songs memorized. Anyone up for "Slip Sliding Away"? LOL

Yeah no one even scored in the 2nd half. So the last half may be rather quiet.

Anyone up for "Slip Sliding Away"? LOL
Slip sliding away, slip sliding away
You know the nearer your destination, the more you slip sliding away
Whoah and I know a man, he came from my hometown
He wore his passion for his woman like a thorny crown
He said dolores, I live in fear
My love for you’s so overpowering, I’m afraid that I will disappear
Chorus
I know a woman, (who) became a wife
These are the very words she uses to describe her life
She said a good day ain’t got no rain
She said a bad day is when I lie in the bed
And I think of things that might have been
Chorus
And I know a father who had a son
He longed to tell him all the reasons for the things he’d done
He came a long way just to explain
He kissed his boy as he lay sleeping
Then he turned around and he headed home again
Chorus
Whoah God only knows, God makes his plan
The information’s unavailable to the mortal man
We’re workin’ our jobs, collect our pay
Believe we’re gliding down the highway, when in fact we’re slip sliding away
Chorus repeats 2x
