Sorry to jump in late on this, but yes, I admit it: not only was I a band geek, but a band captain as well. Never really did any huge parades except for the Veterans' Day parade in Pittsburgh. But we took home enough trophies to more than make up for it!

I wouldn't mind if people chose to name the artist and song when quoting obscure lyrics.
Just guess either Grateful Dead or Phish anytime GP or HighburyGoon write out song lyrics. You probably have an 80% chance of being right! :D

Instrument? I'm guessing trombone, but i want to say tuba. I, myself, used to play cello in the marching band, geez was that a biatch. ;)

And yeah, I could see marching with a cello sucking. But, as Antonio Banderas proved, any case like that can come in a lot of handy.
