Anyone had any experiences with bringing various electronic devices through airport security? I know you have to turn cellphones on, but what about MP3/PVP/Personal Organizers (Palm, etc.)? Do they x-ray them? If so, does this cause problems? Do they make you turn them on?

Just curious.

Last month I flew from Boise to Portland to Oahu and back and had a Creative Labs MP3 player and I had no problems. I did put the MP3 player onto the X-ray scanner of course and did not have it on. I also had my Palm with me and that went through the scanner as well and it was turned off. I think with laptops they at least want it out in plain site and not in your bag. With the Palm and MP3 player, I either had them in a man purse or crammed in the pockets of my coat.

I've been overseas so many times and brought my iPod. Just put it in your carry-on and it'll pass right through.
