Big League Soccer in Houston

Hello everyone. I am exited at the prospect of having MLS come to Houston. I think Houston will be a great City For MLS to embrace and that Houston will be very good for the MLS. I also think that Houston will benefit greatly. That being said. I like the trend of the MLS embrcing names and teamsfrom around the world. I also think it would be exciting to have Club America in Houston. However, It would be more exciting if Houston, a very independent and unique city, could maintain that feeling and have its own franchise with it own name and colors. While all the oil and Gas and aerospace names are great and all, they are kind of worn out. I would propose something more original to Houston and also something that like the 'Houston Texans' did, allowing a broader base of support throughout Texas. I would like to see either:

HT Republic or Houston SC Republic

or

HT Independence or Houston SC Independence

Of course the Ht is for Houston Texas and SC Soccer Club.

It's good to have another Texan on board BigSoccer.

I'll guess you'll find out soon enough if the Quakes will be moved to Houston this off-season, or if you'll have to wait a bit and get an expansion team.

The Houston team, having moved from San Jose, will be named The Houston Goodsports.

When this happens, AFLette and I have already pledged $500,000 to buy the as-yet unbuilt stadium's naming rights and will be calling it His Mother's Basement.
