Ok there is a large Spanish Derby this weekend.. I sincerely hope we may be blessed with the homesite commentary team of Paul Breen Turner and co. and not the miami based team... nothing against them.. but out of preference..and im sure most viewers would agree that they would prefer the home based production commentary team.

fingers crossed.

Paul Breen Turner mentioned on his radio show that he is doing the international commentary. No telling if GOL will use his audio, or substitute their own.

If Paul Breene Turner isn't on this telecast, I will be watching with the sound off.

I certainly don't need those guys to tell me who's on the ball, etc.

Not only am i in agreement with you but i am on the phone right now with directtv inquiring about what my charges getting rid of goltv. They are liars and i cant stand them. I cant stand a guy in miami telling me what the weather is like in madrid when he has never been there.

Yes, it really sucks living in the States and being able to watch Real-Barca live.

Please spell "GolTV" correctly if you start another thread about them, Cantona.

For whatever reason, "GotTv" is getting on my nerves.

Thanks.

Yeah, but I don't understand why Lindsay Dean and that other guy feel the need to show off during the biggest game of the year. In the game earlier this year, the second Real-Barca of 04-05, the continental commentary went out, so Phil Schoen and Lindsay Dean jumped in. They should only be doing the commentary as a second choice, because of technical difficulties,

I don't get the English-language version of GolTV. I used to, but even then I chose the Spanish-language audio.

Good thing someone else started this thread.

The GolTV Spanish commentators are absolutely HORRIBLE. Their narration actually had the power to transform the match from Real vs Barcelona to Alaves vs Malaga. And I speak Spanish, but they are outright a disgrace to the traditional supremacy of Latin soccer commentators. Seriously, I must have said it about 7 or 8 times to the guys I was watching the game with.

Drop the sarcasm - if its a free service, then i am not in the position to complain but the last time i checked I WAS PAYING FOR IT SO I HAVE THE RIGHT TO DEMAND THE BEST VALUE FOR MY HARD-EARNED MONEY.

If i may remind you, the commentary of a "SOCCER GAME" is just as powerful as the game itself.

I repeat - GOLTV SUCKS...

I guess you did not get a chance to watch Barca vs Real or Inter vs Parma this week not to mention the previous weeks.

And your point is?

what i dont understand is.. they are getting the feed already.. why use your own people when you have a veteran commentator on site??? why?? why try to "americanize" the broadcast?? the rest of the world gets Paul Breen Turner and we are shortchanged with a couple of amateurs.

I knew it was all down hill when the broadcast opened up with... "there is ronalda and robinho"... and in front of me was ronaldo and ronaldihno..

there was NO play by play whatsoever in this broadcast... they both seemed to be color commentary guys.. bantering on...

worst yet... the direct tv broadcast didnt even have the SAP option to hear it in Spanish....

time to email goltv...

He's complaining about the commentators not being the original English feed but instead being the local talent. While I do prefer the original audio pbp which actually features a live person in the stadium, I certainly don't consider it an offense to the viewership that GolTV likes to use its own staff. Yes, Paul Breen Turner is probably the best English PbP announcer in the soccer universe. Yes, I would have loved to hear him do this game. But that did not ruin the viewing experinece for me.

I watched Real v Barca. I didn't watch Inter v Parma. It would be nice if you could at least get the games consistent from post to post.
