Haapala handed City trial
Stuart Pearce is stepping up his search for new talent ahead of January's transfer window by bringing Tuomas Haapala to England.
The Manchester City boss is keen to build on an impressive start to the season and wants to introduce some new faces to his squad.
Haapala is on a week's trial with the City of Manchester Stadium outfit, looking to cap a memorable week.
The 26-year-old was called up to the Finland squad for the first time and made his debut against Estonia at the weekend.
The call from caretaker boss Jyrki Heliskoski was another boost for the MyPa captain, who led his side to the Finnish title this term.
Willem II have previously had Haapala on trial but the Finn, who is most at home in midfield but can also operate in a more advanced role, knows this is a great opportunity to earn a move to The Premiership.
"At this age, you don't just go and look around," he explained to STT.
"This is the best team so far that I've had a trial with."
