Great win to the Aussies tonight over Uruguay. World Cup in Germany next year. Wouldn't it be fantastic to see Australia in the same group as England!!!

Bloody ell Ballard don't do that to me. I'm well pleased with the result but hope they keep well away from us.
Stomper only has two geordies supporters in the family and goes through hell. I have 4 Aussies mongrels in mine and think i'd top meself if that happened.

Well done the Aussies, I think the last time they qualified was in 1974, could be wrong though.

Ya know ...
what are the odds of the US, the Aussies and the Brits being stuck in the same group...
That would be fun to watch on this board. :)

Indeed. Depending on who the 4th team might be, I would give the USA and England the nod in such a group. Of course, if Brazil were the fourth ... that USA/England match would be massive.
I might be overlooking those Aussies though.

That could work, But I would like to see Austrailia in an easier group.

That would be most interesting! Setting up a rematch of the Japorea quarterfinals...
Still watch that game on tape occasionally and I just can't believe we lost it.

Don't get carried away.Eng and Ger will both be seeded so they won't be in the same group.

Don't get carried away.Eng and Ger will both be seeded so they won't be in the same group. From the BBC Sports Gossip column:
"England could find themselves in the same World Cup qualifying group as Brazil after Fifa president Sepp Blatter's hint that Sven-Goran Erikkson's team may not be seeded for the Germany tournament. (Daily Mail)"
From what I've read, England, Mexico, and the Netherlands appear to be fighting for the last 2 seeded spots. Personally, I would rank England ahead of either of those two (and France and Spain for that matter) but I gave up trying to figure out FIFA's thinking a long time ago.

I don't think Spain should be seeded because they got in via the playoffs.

Germany was seeded in Japorea 02 and England wasn't. England won their group and Germany had to play the Ukraine in a playoff to get in. I think Spain was seeded last WC also.
