With the forwards they have, and the attacking mids that they have, they really should push an attacking scheme on teams. Rooney has speed, Owen has a quickness about him and he can finish. Gerrard and Lampard are threats as well. They have a solid D, although Rio is a question mark at this time. Beckham can hit the forwards with passes as well as be a threat with his shot. I look forward to Germany 06.
I think they could win it if they can work as a team.
Sure, I agree they could win it, and normally they shoukd be favourites given that it's in Europe. But then again, looking at how they play right now they will have to change quite a few things to have a decent chance. And I can't see how these changes will come about unless they sack Sven, wich is a bit late now anyway.

I can't really argue with you at all on this. I just wonder why they insist on keeping Sven. Such talent on this squad, who knows.

It's nice to see England leading by far. Maybe the English will be pleasantly surprised, after all.
4 years ago, Brazil would've been on that list, no doubt. I voted for Holland only because they are not seeded and there's a half chance they'll end up in a group of death with Mexico/Argentina/Brazil (I'm praying it's not Brazil!), plus the likes of Portugal, Czech Republic (please not again!), Croatia, Sweden, etc.

You'd have to be a total douchebag to back them for the world cup.

You followed that up with the Emerson part, which I see you left off here.
But you now admit to saying that 10 of 11 were better which is more then you would admit before. But because I see you still want to omit, and by omitting that is the same as lying, you still said what you said even though you tried to deny it.
twisting the words again, i never said the other 10 england players were better in any post, you have no clue what your talking about

In your post, where you just quoted yourself, show me where you said equal. I don't see that word anywhere in your post. You said Brazil man for man is not better then England. You made no other statement to say they were equal. Thus your meaning was and is still clear. You think that Brazil is not better thus leaving worse. Admit what you said.

"apart from ronaldinho, brazil man for man are not better then england" it means brazil are worse-equal, not england better in all positions. where does it say england are better in all postions, but you dont have the intelgience to work that out.

erm .. yeah .. that 3-2 win over Argentina showed that England will choke ... oh ... erm ... sorry ... win when needed. Scotland are having a great run this time ....
No need to have a dig at someone who is offering an honest opinion. I reckon any team can flop. The draw hasn't been made yet. We don't know who'll be injured in seven months' time. We don't know what the form book will read, and we don't know which new players are going to shine between now and the World Cup. At the moment there are far too many unknown factors, so a best guess is all we can come up with.
And by the way, England have flopped before and can flop again. In my opinion, the biggest contributor to flopping, whether you're English or not, is cockiness and overconfidence.
Take Euro 2000 and England for example. Everyone was concentrating on the Germany match. England win the Germany match and lose 3-2 to both Portugal and Romania. When we have this, "shoe-in," attitude towards, so-called, "lesser," teams we normally underestimate them and get our arses kicked off the park.
For these reasons I fear everyone, from Brazil to Iran. Never underestimate your opponent. Sweden, Italy and Spain will tell you this, based on their experiences in the last World Cup.
