I thought FIFA was going to make some decision about his future come the end of October well here it is almost Turkey Day and no decision...
I am still saying he will be at Old Trafford in January...

I'll leave this one open for now, but did the kid really deserve his own thread at this point in time? We'll all know when there's news about a decision, and there will be plenty to discuss then. For now, there is nothing.
I know you think he'll be the savior of this team in January, but the fact is we don't know what FIFA will rule, we don't know whether he wants to play for us, we don't know what plans SAF has for him if he does join, and we don't know what kind of player he's going to be in the daily grind of probably the most physically demanding league in the world.

But all of this combined makes him all the more exciting :D

I've tried to catch Lyn's games on TV for that particular reason, I havn'tbeen able to though. But from what I've heard he has been doing well in norway and that's all you can expect from him. He will not be a saviour when he comes here, he does not dominate the leauge there, he is a talent with a great potential. Not the finished article...
He was nominated in he category Norwegian Leauge profile of the year but the general attitude seems to be pretty questioning owards this sincethey don't feel he has done anything special this year. One remark in defence of his nomination was "A profile can be many things, no one has said he was a Positive profile". So I suppose that he has stirred up some feelings in norway as well.
His AWOL will not have gone down well with norwegian supporters as they demand, as do all scandinavians, a very high level of professionalism from their players. Notably he also failed to show up for Nigerias WC qualifier against Zimbabwe in october.
He has also failed to apply for a new WP, despite the club urging him to do so, before the old one expired which resulted in him beeing unavailable for his club for a time. He also risked to not mībe let back into norway again ifhe wentto the Zimbabwe match, so that mey be the reason for him not showing p there one supposes. He really needs to get better people around him it seems.
As a sidenote I can report that Krisofer Haestad was nominated as both PotY and YPotY. The first category together with Carew and Gamst Pedersen and lost out to Carew. I only assume that he won the other category(beeing nominated for Poy is a hint methinks)
Most of this comesfrom norwegian newspapers so if i have misunderstood anything, please feel free to point it out to me. (Ihave no doubt that you will) :D

Mikels results from his years Norwegian Leauge is as follows
6 Games, 1 goal. All games as a starter.
He played 4 games before the whole transfer saga and then beeing one of Lyn's best palyers, if not exceptional in all 4 games. After him going AWOL for 4 months he only played 2 games, beeing average, before he decided that he was jaded and worn out and didn't want to play any more games for Lyn. So aftermid september he did not feature for Lyn.
So my oppinion is that it is impossibleto judge him by his performances in Norway. His first 4 games where his first as a senior player. The fact that he did well is promising but you can't really say anything after 4 games other than that Lyn played better when hewas in the team than when he wasn't. The other 2 games after 4 months without supervised training doesn't say much... the factthat he felt jaded after a 4 month layoff is in my oppinion more a sign of bad character, or yet again the result of influence from Shittu who never seems to leave his side these days.
He also alledgedly refused/did not want to, to talk to Sir Alex when he flew Oslo some time ago to talk to he Lyn management.

Everything you've mentioned of him on that post points to him being a big, fat cnut. Do we really want this kind of player in Manchester United...? Will undoubtably be lured by the big bucks of Chelsea.

No doubt about the fact that his actions this year has not done him any favours in my eyes. The thing is that he seemed to be doing well until he signed for United and Shittu paniced and decided that he needed babysitting 24/7.
Lyn's other 2 Nigerians also dissapeared as long as Obi, but as they are less talened they don't get the same attention.
But of course, his actions worries me and they tell me thatat the least, he is not mature enough to cope withthe pressure of beeing a Man U player at the moment. I have seen and heard to little about his footballing skills to have any oppinion about them.

If he acts like this we can still sell him for a few hundred million to the mafia.

Highly likely that neither player will be at United in January. Real are after Ballack and 'The Kaiser' Beckenbauer wants him to go there instead. Obi Mikel well if we don't know any news by now the chances are he's never going to pull on the red jersey at all... besides he sounds like a big jessie that throws his toys out of the pram. Not the kinda material we need in our midfield. We need spit and sawdust, fire and brimstone characters for the CM position.
If neither come we're ballacked... sorry ;)
