The Brendan Benson show was great last night. I ended up going with my friend Bianca. The opening band, Silversun Pickups, rocked. They reminded me of old Smashing Pumpkins a little bit. Brendan Benson was really good too, some of his stuff was reminicent of Squeeze, i kinda thought of Superdrag too (another underrated band). I love going to shows at the Casbah, its really a cool little venue.

Foos-ball is the Devil!
That is hilarious!

Do not play in two halves. Rather play in one half or three halves in order to completely differentiate yourselves from the heretics, the polytheists, the corrupted and the disobedient.
Three halves? I thought this culture gave us algebra?

Is that an elected position or appointed? ;)

LOL...self-appointed of course. This guy self-appoints himself to everything. Jerk.

even the Cowboy Junkies cover.......

worst cover song ever.
It makes me sick.
If Lou Reed was dead, he'd be turning over in his grave.

"...and we're back in 3, 2, 1..."

Hey, everyone! Great lunch today: Pecan crusted chicken salad with dried cranberries! Plus my wife is making the sandwich version of my favorite for dinner tonight - chicken parm! Suffice to say, my belly is very, very pleased. ;)

So I was thinking about that futbol fatwa on my way home for lunch (weren't we all!) and I recalled how the author kept repeating phrases like "like the heretics," "as the non-believers like Americans do," etc. It's not enough to say "don't do this" they also have to point out the failings of others, repeating that so-and-so is evil. Isn't there a psychological term for that type of posturing, something akin to disacssociation? Like they have to repeat that mantra to make others beleive it and/or reassure themselves?

Either way it's stupid.

Damn GG, I'm coming over for dinner! :D

I think the whole fatwa was pretty funny though. El Hadj Diouf would be really good at the spitting in peoples faces bit! ;)

I think Leigh and I tentatively planned the "family" trip for when Kyla is 7 and Joshua is 10! But we (the adults) could meet at Ashburton Grove next year......... :D
